Chapter 4: the bright side

((Sorry for no updates in a while. I got sick and just didn't have much motivation. But, I'm back!))

((By the way, this chapter is really short but I just needed a bridge to get to a good part. Hope you enjoy anyways!))

I looked away from the roof and I smiled because it hurt so bad; because I knew I shouldn't allow myself to have those moments due to the fact that the always get taken away from me.

So fast.

Why was I feeling like this? The burning hole in my stomach due to anxiety; the trembling in my hands; the tears falling down my face. Why was this happening?

I decided to go back inside, I didn't want to have to watch Mordecai leave. I sighed and turned around, crawling back to the window, my knees scraping against the shingles lining the roof.

I got to the window and I helped myself down, my arms still throbbing terribly.

I let my feet fall to the floor with a loud thud and then I sighed in discomfort. This was it, this was what my life was. Just plain misery.

I looked around the room. I directed my vision to Mordecai's side of the room. I saw the picture of him and Margaret laying in a photo frame on his night stand. I glared at it, another tear slipping down my cheek.

But hey, look at the bright side, at least Mordecai's happy...
