((Yeah so-- I'm a terrible author.

I literally haven't updated in weeks. Yikes. But, I'm going to make it a priority to update often so expect some more updates!

Also, I'm trying out a new POV so hopefully it will make this story more interesting.

Enjoy!))

//3rd person POV\\

Rigby glanced away from the photograph, a sharp throbbing pain hitting his heart. He eyed the door and walked over to it. He knew staying in that room wouldn't do him any good. He might as well find something else to waste his time on.

Meanwhile, Mordecai was walking home in the rain. Margaret had gotten called into work, leaving Mordecai to find his way home.

He looked around the streets, chest rising and falling with each shallow breath he took. The sun had almost set and it was beginning to get dark. He sped up his pace because he was not a fan of walking in the dark.

When he arrived at the park, a small smile was present on his face.

He made his way to the front door and he paused. That smile he was wearing quickly faded, 'Shit' he thought when he realized what had happened before he left. What was his excuse that he was going to tell Rigby? He grimaced and then relaxed his tensed shoulders.

Mordecai opened the door, his breaths shallow and short. He walked in and slammed the door behind him, hoping someone would hear him.

Rigby was on the couch, staring at the blank tv screen. It was as if the television was mocking him, reminding him that he had nothing better to do with his time.

Rigby jumped at the sudden sound of the door slamming shut. His head whipped around and he glanced at Mordecai.

They both stayed still in their places, not knowing what to say or do. It was a scene set in stone. The silence was uncomfortable and awkward.

"Hey..." Mordecai voice drifted off as he spoke, attempting to find the words to say. He opened his mouth to speak again.

"Shut up, " Rigby retorted, cutting Mordecai off while turning back around to face the television screen. Mordecai was taken back.

"Excuse me?" He hissed, looking at Rigby's reflection in the tv.

Rigby didn't respond at first. He was too absorbed in anger to say anything. Mordecai repeated himself, trying to get an answer.

"You really think I want to talk to you?" Rigby muttered, finally speaking as he sighed. He looked down at the ground and huffed heavily.

"Well- no, " Mordecai exhaled, "look, can we just talk this over? Today's been a wreck, "

Rigby didn't respond.

"Rigby, " Mordecai said, taking a step forward. He heard a quiet sniffle. He narrowed his eyes and took another step.

"Rigby?" He repeated himself. Still, no response. Mordecai finally made his way around the couch to look at Rigby.

Rigby was staring at the bandages on his arms, wet trails of tears on his cheeks. His face was red.

"Dude...?" Mordecai kneeled down to look at Rigby. Rigby kept his gaze away from Mordecai. He felt like an idiot.

"Just-- just stop, " Rigby said quietly. Mordecai sighed when Rigby finished his sentence by saying, "don't act like you care,"

"Seriously! For the third time, we are not arguing about this again!" Mordecai exclaimed. He glared at Rigby.

"Then don't talk to me!" Rigby finally lifted his gaze to stare at Mordecai. More tears pooled in his eyes. His breaths were uneven and heavy, showing his distress.

"Rigby! Come on! What happened to you? You know I care about you! I wouldn't go through all the stupid shit we've been through if I didn't care and you know that!" Mordecai locked eyes with Rigby, "and you know I'd do anything for you, so stop acting like I wouldn't! I don't know what got into your head but you better fix it!"

"You--" Rigby paused, trying to think of some harsh thing to say, "You don't know what it feels like!"

They both stopped. Mordecai froze and stopped his breathing for a minute. He blinked in shock.

"You're right, " He responded, "that's why I need you to tell me!"

Rigby glared.

"I'm tired of not knowing what happened with you! Just please, for the love of God, tell me what happened! You promised! You told me earlier that you would tell me!"

Rigby stood up off the couch and stared into Mordecai's eyes. He said with a straight face, "You don't want to know, "

He elaborated by saying, "it would ruin everything. You'd hate me, "

Mordecai shook his head in distress, "I could never hate you, idiot, " He muttered.

"I didn't want anyone to know how I felt, "  Rigby shuttered.

"Rigby, please, just tell me what happened. I don't want to get into another fucking argument. You know I care about you. You know I could never hate you. Just please, "

"No!" Rigby practically screamed, anger coursing through his veins. His breathing sped up, as did his heart rate, "just stop, okay? Just stop, "

Mordecai felt his heart break. What was he going to do?

"Rigby, " He locked eyes with Rigby, "This isn't you. Something's changed, "

"We've established that, " Rigby rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.

"I'm tired of this. This whole day has been nonstop arguing and bickering. Besides the 5 minutes he had, "

"Mordecai, I just can't, okay? Now's not the time. Maybe another time, "

Silence. That same uncomfortable silence fell over them. Rigby winced and his gaze fell to the floor. Horrid thoughts ran through his head until Mordecai nodded slowly. He placed a hand on Rigby's shoulder and said, "how about we do something tomorrow. Just you and me. Then you can tell me..?"

Rigby smiled and sighed softly, "sure, "

They both grinned a small smile.

'Tomorrow' Rigby thought, 'just hope for a better tomorrow,'

((Next chapter will have a lot of fluff in it so be ready for that! Hope this chapter wasn't too rushed or anything. Bye!))
