((Ahh..
Ahhhh.
AHHHHHHHH
I CANT WRITEEEEE
WHY IS THIS SO HARD?? I've been trying to write this stupid chapter since August 25! That was weeks ago. Jesus- I don't know what I'm doing.
But trustnooneitrustyou is helping me write. We plan out ideas, she writes, I edit. So if the style is a little different, that's why.
And I just want to say thank you for actually taking the time to write sweet comments and to cheer me up. You guys mean a lot to me.
Like I said before, a lot is going on. I'm having a lot of difficulty with my mental health and I'm also sick... Physically..
So, with all that being said, Gem and I really hope you enjoy!))
[Time skip]
It's been days. Days since Rigby's plan failed. He wanted to see if he could talk with Mordecai, but it didn't work.
Rigby lays on his bed. Why can't this all be a dream?
He reaches his hand over to his opposite arm and pinches hard, just hoping this is all a dream.
But, of course, it isn't. Why would it be? All these bad things.. They always happen to Rigby.
Mordecai opens the door to the room. It's currently 11:32 pm. They should both be asleep, but Mordecai was out doing whatever the hell he was doing.
Rigby lifts up his head to glance at Mordecai. He knows Mordecai can't see him, so he just smiles.
Mordecai walks to his bed and sits down with a loud, and very noticeable sigh.
"You okay?" Rigby asks, surprising Mordecai. He flinches a bit, but never looks up. Rigby can tell because the moonlight is shining through the window, directly toward Mordecai's bed.
"Mhm, " Mordecai nods. They both want to say something, they're longing for a normal conversation. They've created a hazard between them, a line they can't cross.
But they're both determined to cross it. One day or another.
"Want to talk about it?" Rigby doesn't know why he's being so nice. Maybe he's just gotten sick of all the fighting and bickering.
"Kind of, "
"Kind of?"
"Look, you wouldn't really care, " Mordecai finally looks up. They lock eyes, but Mordecai still can't see his friend.
But it's okay, Rigby's glad Mordecai can't see his red face and watery eyes.
"I beg to differ," Rigby grunts, sitting up. He folds his hands and places them in his lap, eyes still set on Mordecai.
Nothing else is said. All that can be heard is the soft white noise of the air conditioning and their breathing.
"I just-" Mordecai exhales, "This should've never happened,"
"Yeah," Rigby agrees quietly. He nods as well.
"I don't know how to fix this," Mordecai explains. He really doesn't. This is all too complicated for him and Rigby.
Mordecai glances down at the floor, still not able to see that Rigby is looking at him. He feels pain, a sense of hurt he's never felt before.
"You can start by not yelling at me," Rigby huffs.
There it is. There's that fire that's going to get them started again, just like before.
But, this time around, Mordecai doesn't want to retort some awful accusation back. He'd rather be quiet.
"I know. I won't yell at you," Mordecai's voice trails off. He's being sincere.
Rigby sighs again. He still has anger burning within him. He wants to rage, to tell, to scream.
But he knows that will only make everything so much worse.
"But you can't tell at me either," Mordecai says.
"I can't make any promises," Rigby mumbles.
This is never going to work itself out, will it?
"You better try though," Mordecai mutters. Rigby nods again as he glances over at the clock; 11:43 pm.
"We need to get to bed," Rigby tells Mordecai, leaning back down on his trampoline.
"But-" Mordecai wants to say something, and Rigby can tell, but it never comes out. Mordecai just instead says, "yeah... Goodnight,"
Rigby closes his eyes. He wants to cry.
Mordecai stays sitting up in his bed, though. He knows he won't be able to sleep.
But maybe he has an idea of what he can do tomorrow to make the day a little easier for both of them.
((Yeah this is just part one. Hope you enjoyed!))
