Chapter 14: How?

(( *groans*

I'm so irritated with myself.

I've wrote a few chapters after this, all that's left to do is edit. Just because I feel like I need a break again...

So, yes, there will be updates. I just might not be commenting or doing anything.

Rigby's eyes shot open. Wait, did he mean that?

He could he lying, considering everything that had happened over the course of a few days. But, who knows?

Rigby just nodded, not wanting to get into it at that second. Mordecai looked down at the ground as silence took over.

Every conversation just seemed to end like that; in awkward and uncomfortable silence. Where no words were said, but they didn't need to be. Mordecai's and Rigby's expressions were enough to see what they wanted to say.

Rigby was eyeing the table with an uncomfortable glare. His heart was pounding in his chest as they sat there in the quiet room.

Rigby, in all honesty, wanted to drop the conversation. But, he couldn't help but ask, "really?"

Mordecai flinched at the sound of his voice. He glanced up from the ground to meet his gaze with Rigby's.

He nodded. No words, again, were needed. Just a simple nod and Rigby had no other choice but to believe him.

Rigby smiled softly, breathing beginning to slow down.

"I wouldn't lie again," Mordecai finally spoke, "not after- all that,"

Rigby's grin grew as he nodded, "I hope so, dude," He chuckled lightly.

Mordecai smiled, too. They were both smiling, finally. It was a rare sight then, to see them both smiling.

Rigby couldn't help but wonder where the times had gone and how everything ended up like this. How did it all come to this?

How did they let themselves take this so far? And get so cruel?
