//3rd person POV\\
Both Mordecai and Rigby were stunned; completely perplexed by the whole situation.
Mordecai didn't make an effort to stop Rigby from exiting the room. He felt no need to continue the conversation with Rigby.
So, as his best friend walked out of the room with a horrid expression sewn onto his face, Mordecai remained seated at the table, not seeming phased by any of this.
Rigby strode away, tears welding in his eyes. He felt betrayed, why was his own best friend doing this to him?
As the questions and interrogations strolled around in his head, he sat himself on the couch in the living area.
He glanced forward and the blank tv screen stared back at him. Rigby gulped and gripped the white cushions beside him. This, this is what pain felt like.
Mordecai, meanwhile, was just leaving the kitchen. But no, he wasn't excited to reunite with Rigby. He was taking off to go to the Coffee Shop, to relieve his worried mind.
He knew that would enrage Rigby but he had to leave. He couldn't bear the idea of staying with Rigby.
Mordecai only made it to the entryway before he had stopped him dead in his tracks.
"I know what you're doing, " Rigby gritted out. Mordecai froze, steadily balancing himself on his heels. He rocked back and then moved forward, repeating this motion as he stared.
"Yea? Then what am I doing?" Mordecai shouldn't have been challenging Rigby so much.
"Getting away from me, " Rigby stated nonchalantly. Mordecai sighed, letting his shoulders relax.
"So what?" Mordecai retorted. He had yet to face Rigby at this point.
Rigby smiled as he flipped himself around to direct his gaze at the entryway.
"You're really that mad?" He questioned, "You really hate me that much?"
Mordecai cringed. His nose scrunched up as he shut his eyes, "No, "
They both froze this time. Mordecai's breathing slowed as Rigby's heart began to race.
"What?" Rigby asked, stunned. Mordecai gained enough courage to direct his attention toward Rigby. And when he faced Rigby, he did not appear happy.
"I don't hate you, and you know that, "
"Then why-"
"And I'm not that mad, "
"Yeah but-" Rigby kept repeatedly trying to speak, but Mordecai would cut him off.
"I'm just, confused, okay? Nothing's making sense right now, " Mordecai explained, "I'm still trying to process all this, "
Rigby's gaze fell to the ground, "You should've explained that earlier, "
"Well maybe-"
"Look! I know I shouldn't have gotten jealous, okay?! I know this is my fault! Give me a break! I've already told you that you have no idea what this feels like, so stop acting like you do!"
They locked eyes once again. Mordecai's eyebrows furrowed when he noticed the tears beginning to form in Rigby's eyes.
Rigby clenched his fist. His heart was thundering in his chest like never before. Pain struck him as he stared into Mordecai's eyes.
Mordecai was lost for words. Nothing came to his head. Just silence and emptiness swirled around in his mind, taunting him.
"And if you want to leave, then fine! Just don't expect me to be here when you get back!" Rigby yelled. One of Mordecai's eyebrows raised. He was confused by the meaning of Rigby's words.
"Fine, " Mordecai growled, arms crossing as he spun 180° to face the opposite way. He stepped forward, hesitant to leave.
'I've got nothing to lose' He thought.
But little did he know, he still had his best friend to lose...
((Wow
Ok
I didn't know I was going to write that but okay xD
Hope you enjoyed this short, awful and rushed chapter! Hope it wasn't too terrible.
