Getting close

Rayla's POV

After breakfast we gather some supplies and head off the mountain, keeping a close eye on Zym. "Callum look! it's the mountain where we have to drop off Zym!" I point off into the distance to the tallest mountain in the whole world. "It still looks like we have about a month of traveling left if we stay at this pace.", Callum and I walk for a while into the forest until we hear rustling. I  tell Callum to dive into the bush while I check out what it is. "hello?" Its a little kid, but something is off about them, they seem... familiar

Callum's POV

I can hear that somebody is there, but Rayla hasn't said anything. "hello? please come out, I promise I won't hurt you." I see Rayla step out of a bush and she pulls out her knives. "who are you and how do you know that we were here?" the kid gives Rayla a confused look " umm it's easy, you left footprints on the ground. I also saw that it wasn't just you out here, you had someone else with you" Rayla looks at me and motions me to get out of the bush, "what are you?"

Rayla's POV

Im starting to get really annoyed with this kid and her questions, but then she stops talking. she looks at me for a second and says "wait, are you Rayla? THE Rayla?" I look at her slightly confused. " you were sent out to kill the king and the prince right? The rumor around town is that you didn't kill them but you became friends with the princes" then the kid looks at callum and shouts "WAIT A MINUTE, YOUR ONE OF THE PRINCES" I give her a glare "shhhhhh, could you keep it down? every elf in Xadia wants to kill us right now". "oops sorry, I just get a little excited at times" this kid is weird, she knows my name and what mission I went on.

 "how do you know me? and why are you out here alone?" she gives us a sad look, "I'm out here because I tried to share my opinion in an assassin lesson but they yelled at me for it, so I ran away. and how do I know you? before you went on your mission do you remember the junior assassin class coming to cheer you on? I was that one kid who didn't look very happy about it" now I remember this kid, "why were you unhappy?". "like I said earlier, I tried to share my opinion in assassin lessons but they never agreed with me. only today I decided to run away, my opinion was why should we hurt humans?" I look at the kid with amazement "wow, your the wisest person we've met on this trip and your like what, 8 years old?" the kid nods happily.

Callum's Pov

This kid is great, she might be a nice addition to our trip. "what's your name?" I ask her, "Pamela!" I look at Rayla and ask her is the kid can come with us "Absolutely not!" we argue for a while until Rayla finally agrees and we start walking...
