Holy crap... 1000 views? I'm sorry I haven't uploaded in awhile, my brains an empty log since I have to deal with school. So I'm giving you guys an extra long chapter

Rayla's POV 

There has to be some way to communicate with tinker, maybe a spell I can teach to callum.

"We can't keep going in circles, there has to be another solution." I hear callum say

"I know that, I'm thinking! Maybe there's a word I know in ancient draconic that can be helpful." I say 

Suddenly something clicked, helpful. HELPFUL. of course why didn't I think of that! The draconic word for help is auxilium! The only problem is that I don't remember the rune.

"Callum, do you know anything about emergency spells?" 

"No, why?" He asks me

"I think there's a way for us to communicate with tinker, but I need to know the rune. It's a special spell that can allow someone to conjure up a bright light in the sky, sorta like a beacon." 

He thinks for a second

"I don't know much about spells, just stuff about the ones I already know."

Crap, well we don't really have any other choices if he doesn't know the rune.

"Are you sure you didn't write anything in your sketchbook? Maybe you took notes when we were way back at lujanne' s" 

I motion to grab his notebook but he quickly pulls it away.

"Uh... ther- there's drawings that aren't finished yet" he stammers

"Your drawings are the least of our worries right now, I just need to check if you might have any notes." 

He wrestles me for the sketchbook but I arise victorious, I start flipping through the pages until I see a drawing that catches my attention. It's a family portrait of everybody together, Callum, me, Pamela , and of course Ezran. There's one person that stands out to me though, right in the center is Harrow. He never really talks about Harrow since it only reminds him about the bad memories.

"You saw it, didn't you..." he says

"Yeah... do you, miss him?"

"Yeah, it was supposed to be a surprise drawing but it's not finished yet."

I feel so bad,  Harrow's death was partially my fault. 

"Who's that?" Pamela asks

"Uhm... this is... Callums dad"  

"What happened to him? Did he..."

"Yep" I say

We all stand in silence for awile, it felt like forever. We probably shouldnt linger on this any longer.

"Hey Pamela, do you know anything about emergency spells?" I quickly change the subject

"Let's see... hmmmmmm" 

She thinks for a bit

"I was taught a few in school, just lemme think."

Silence

"AHA! You guys are looking for the rune for the spell auxilium, right? I'm pretty sure that its something like an upside down heart with lines around it."

Callum makes the rune in the air and says, "Auxilium"

A small light emerged out of his hands and shoots up into the sky. A bright flashing light emerges. Now all we have to do is wait...

*1 hour later* 

I hear a faint voice, "rayla... Rayla" 

"Guys wake up! It's tinker!" I shout 

"Wha-" I hear callum mumble

"It's tinker! He's looking for us!"

 He stands up quickly, and he tries to wake up Pamela 

"I wanna sleeeeeeep" Pamela says

"You can't now, we need to go find Tinker."

I see a slight glow in the distance, it looks like lantern.

"TINKER! OVER HERE!" I say waving my arms

I see the lantern move a bit, soon I see Tinker rushing over.

"You were gone really long, so I assumed that you guys were in trouble. Then I saw the light in the sky and definitely knew something was wrong"

I hugged him tight

"Thank you dad..."

He doesn't say anything, he just gives me a small smile

*30 minutes later* 

We make it back to camp safely, Tinker knew the way since he was smart and marked the trees he walked by. We all settled down and started catching up. We eventually had to break the bad news about zym to him.

"That's terrible, at least Pamela's fine. Well, mostly anyway. It might take me awhile to fix her up so her and I will chat while you two relax, it's been a long day."

Tinker goes over to the fire to stitch up Pamela, while i look around for some food. I managed to scrounge up quite a bit of moon berries and Callum has some leftover bread from the past towns we've been in. Maybe we could make moonberry jam sandwiches?

*30 minutes later*

I've prepared the lunches and it's about time to eat.

"So, Pamela was telling me about everything that happened while you guys were in the forest." Tinker says

"Mhmm" Callum says with a mouthful of moonberry jam

"So Callum, heard you and my daughter last night"

I see Callum practically choke on his sandwich

" *COUGH* s-sorry wHaT?"

I try my best to try not to burst into laughter.

"TALKING callum- let me finish" Tink says

"Thank *cough* god" Callum says still choking on his sandwich

"you two seem to have quite the connection, I admire how deeply you care for eachother."

"I don't know what I would do if we hadn't saved eachother " I say

we all finish eating our food and Callum and I decide we want to take a nap.

"I hope nothing else!" Tink says jokingly

I give him a glare to remind him that there's an 8 year old listening.

Callum and I lay down next to each other (as always) and doze off

Ok so, once again, I am honored to have 1000 views and I'm so happy to know that people are actually reading my story. I really wish I could upload more but schools got me pretty busy, maybe I'll upload a mega chapter in a few weeks. But for now, peace out shippers.
