The rays of sun dance
Through the autumn leaves
Which tumble across the sidewalk
In the gentle breeze
And all around life dances
To a soft sad song
Bidding farewell to summer
As winter comes along
That gentle breeze
Lifts the leaves
In a great solemn pirouette
As the skies grand hues
Turn wine, sierra and blues
As the orange sun starts to setAnd this sad dance as life turns
Sets solemnly in my mind
Because fall gravely marches forward
And the sands continue counting time
As I look at the tree
That once was in spring
Passes through summer, now fall
Yet even though my golden leaves
Drop sadly in the dancing breeze
I wouldn't change how time crawlsFor my leaves add beauty to the world
That will leave some entranced
And my brief life lives on forever
So long as leaves still dance
