"Do me............."

I think my mind just exploded! With that said, my heart started to beat rapidly, like an unknown beast wants to escape.

"W-what do you mean by that...Beam?" I ask in order to save my sanity...if it can be saved.

"I said, do me..." Beam pauses for a while and I wait patiently. "...a favor."

I release a sigh of relief which I didn't even know I was holding.

Hooh! Okay...my sanity's back.

"*cough* Okay, what favor?"

Beam bit his lower lip and avoids looking directly at me, which I find extremely cute and sexy.

Snap out of it Forth!

I give myself a mental slap before finally noticing something is off. The atmosphere is quite...gloomy.

"Hey, look at me." Gently putting my index finger under his chin, I tilt his head towards me and now we're having a good eye contact.

Not until I noticed some tears forming around his eyes.

"Beam, what's wrong?"

"N-nothing." He reply whilst wiping the tears that started to drop.

"You know you can tell me anything Beam, I'm your mate after all." I reply, reassuring him while caressing his cheeks.

I thought he would calm down, but he didn't, instead he tighten his hold on my hand before sobbing.

"I-I-I'm scared Forth......." Beam sobs as he clutches my shirt tightly. I hug to comfort him while patting his back.

"M-mom....s-she told me...something...."

"What is it?" I ask gently, hugging him tighter and this time, he hugs me back.

"F-Forth....I'm not...who you think...you are."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I'm............adopted Forth." Dropping my head on his shoulders, I sniff his scent as he continued to sob.

"So? Does it change anything between us? You're still the Beam I know, you're my mate. That won't change." Rubbing my hand on his back to calm him down, Beam started to tighten his embrace.

"I was....s-scared you'll reject me.." I loosen our hug and look at his tear-filled eyes. Giving a gentle and reassuring peck on his forehead, I then smile at him fondly.

"I won't hurt you again, I promise." He smiles and I wipe the remaining tears from his eyes before pulling him once again for a comforting hug. After that, we both slept in each other's embrace.

It was already 9 pm when I woke up. Beam is still sleeping and is wearing a peaceful expression as he sleeps. I can tell he hasn't been sleeping well, judging by the bags under his eyes.

Making sure my movements won't awaken my mate from his sleep, I stealthily make my way out of bed before going to the so called 'kitchen' to make him dinner, or at least try to make him dinner.

When I opened the fridge, I was dumbfounded to see, eggs, potatoes, some other ingredients like garlic, onions and ginger, and that's it. Then I opened his pantry and saw lots of canned foods, cup noodles, instant noodles, and a few snacks.

My Beam is living an unhealthy life!

I sigh in defeat not knowing what to do with all these ingredients, but then an idea came up.

Why not make a potato soup?

Yeah, I know what you're thinking. Not the best idea at all but it will do.

I checked the other pantry and saw some type of soup mixture, that can help.

"What are you doing?" Beam asks while rubbing his eyes as he tries to approach me.

"Making dinner, I hope you don't mind." I reply whilst stirring the soup.

"Nah....*yawns*" Just then, the rice cooker beeps indicating that the rice is already cooked. I stopped stirring and turn the stove off. I place the soup in a large bowl before serving and putting it in front of a curious-looking Beam, I also did the same for the rice.

"Dig in." I usher the person in front of me since he hasn't touched his food yet. Being the gentleman that I am, I let him have a taste first.
 
"Mmm~ this turned out pretty good." He compliments and I beam widely.

"Well thank you." I smile at him before digging in.

There is something bothering me.

Hesitating whether to ask him or not, I chose the former.

"Beam."

"Yeah?" He arches his brow while looking at me.

"Don't freak out."

He places his utensils down before crossing his arms and looking at me accusingly, "Why?", he asks.

"My parents want to meet you this Saturday for lunch." His reaction is what I was expecting, that is, Beam's jaw dropped --- to the ground.

"W-why?" He stutters as his hands tremble, I place my hand gently on top of his before holding them.

"I want to formally introduce you to them, as the one I love....and my mate."

"But Forth," He looks hesitant. "What if they don't like me?"

"They will."

"How would you know?" He questions, uncertainty evident in his eyes.

I ponder once again, the reason is most likely....unacceptable.

"My brothers....made a bet."

"....."

"Yeah, I know."

"They...made a bet?" He tilts his head on one side since he finds it confusing... I think.

"I'll explain." I took a deep breathe before bringing my shameful past. "You already know that I swing both ways even before we met right?" Beam nods and I continue. "Well, my brothers made a bet. The first one is if I'll ever have a mate, the second one is whether my mate is gonna be a girl or a boy."

Unexpectedly, Beam laughs from my explanation. "That is quite funny." He states before chuckling. Due to that, my confidence went back to normal.

"So, will you meet them?"

"Mmm~...sure." Beam smiles timidly before fumbling his hands.

"Don't worry Beam, they'll love you." I reassure him and grip his hands tighter to send all my love through my hands in order to comfort him.

"I hope so..."
