Beam

I am sooooo dead!

I have to meet my in-laws this Saturday! Today is already Tuesday!

Ghad! This is so stressful!

I know that it's still early to call Forth's parents my in-laws but it has to be done sometime in the future, so why not now?

Here I am, debating what to bring as a gift for Forth's parents. It is either buy each of them a present or just buy a basket of fruits plus wine. After deciding carefully, I chose the latter.

Although I admit, I am indeed a coward. I didn't have the guts to tell my best friends regarding my turmoil about meeting my mate's parents! I'm sure Kit did fine, after all, Yo mentioned something about a fortune teller telling their families that their sons' mate are both guys.

Forth is different, he is manly! More manly than my idiot friend Pha! His family must be expecting him to have a women as a mate, with decent background and pompous figure or something. I can already imagine their disappointment when they see me.

I just do hope everything will be fine.

Saturday

I was too busy that I didn't even notice that today is Saturday! So here I am, buying wine and a basket of fruits in a rush while fixing myself at the same time.

Gosh! The stress is real!

"Chill Beam, don't worry." Forth is beside me, holding my hand whilst reassuring me.

"B-but..."

"Don't worry, they'll like you." Forth pats my head as we walk side by side, and before long, we exit the mall together.

During the drive, Forth kept reassuring me that everything is gonna fine. Of course I pretend that it would be, but my insides are wreaking havoc.

Man! People often say that in -laws can be monsters! What will I do if they come to hate me?!!!

It's already late for me to realize that we've already arrived at Forth's home!

"Come now Beam." Forth tried to comfort me by giving a smile. I took a deep breath before exiting the car and timidly walking towards the door.

Forth pressed the doorbell and a loud sound echoed throughout the house. The door opened and a lovely looking lady around mid-50s greeted us, well, Forth in a motherly smile.

"Forth, you're already here~" Forth's mother hugs her son and smother some kisses on his cheeks too. They were engrossed in their conversation when suddenly, Forth turned his attention on me, his mom following his gaze afterwards.

"And you must be Beam, right?" His mother approaches me and smiles.

"Sawadee khrap auntie, I am Beam Baramee khrub." I wai and give my best smile, also handling to her the wine and basket containing fruits.

"Thank you dear, come inside."

Once inside, I can't help but feel warm...very warm...as in nostalgic. Reminds me of the time when I had a complete family, when my so called 'dad' did not leave us, when I was always happy to come home...where everything was...perfect.
