i saw a video today talking about how earth is so close to dying and we are all close to becoming extinct and i talked to my family about it and about how angry i was. i was sitting there on the brink of tears and my mom told me to stop talking about it because my sisters would be scared. to this i replied they should be scared and she got mad at me.

everyone should be fucking terrified because in ten years, if we don't change our ways and the earths temperature has raised two degrees, there is no turning back. your life will be over before it's even halfway began. you will live to see the height of technological advancement and the fall of life on earth.

what you won't get to see is your grandchildren in a happy, healthy, safe world. you won't see your children play with normal kid toys. they'll hear on the news that there's .023 of a degree left before the world can have no return. they'll see world war III which is fought over food and water.

you won't get to sit on that porch swing with the love of your life at 80 years old like you always imagined. you won't be happy elders spoiling your grandchildren. being 'spoiled' at that time will be having fresh food or clean water, that's what the world will become if we don't stop and think about what we're doing.

here's some things that you could do to help (even the tiniest bit)

• renewables
use refundable energy sources such as wind and solar
• greener travel
walk, bike, carpool or use public transit instead of taking your car, getting in a traffic jam for hours with your engine running
• energy efficiency
use energy efficient products such as lightbulbs. (energuide)
• meat free
this can be taken in many ways. you could become vegan, vegetarian or simply cut back on animal products.
• need vs want
do you really need a third motorcycle or do you just want it?
• carbon taxes good?
yes actually, carbon taxes puts a price on the carbon you've used this will (hopefully) help to discourage people from using a lot of carbon. inevitably, carbon options will cost more and greener solutions will cost less.
• what's up with you
tell other people all about this and how they can help. in turn, listen to others when they are sharing their message.
• research
any research can help you become more knowledgeable about the situation.
• simply...
of course there are the things you hear of everyday such as no one time plastics and no littering. those are pretty obvious though.

so i know these aren't much but truly any bit helps. our world is in danger and if we don't change it soon (by 2030) things won't look so good in the future. thanks for reading this
