My eyes open to a pale light and a medicinal scent surrounds me. I try to sit up, but require the aid of the pillows behind me. My doctor and a group of nurses are standing at a counter chatting. I wipe a bead of sweat off my forehead and look around for Maxon, unsure of how I got here.

The last thing I remember is the party. We were in the garden and then suddenly. . . my water broke. I yelled for Maxon and he carried me to the medical wing. After that, it is really a blur. I look towards the door and see the back of my husband's head. His blonde is disheveled where he must have been running his hands through it.

The sound of a baby's cry rings through the medical wing. My head jerks over to the nurses who are looking towards the door. "What is that?" I ask them. A nurse with dark hair smiles at me.

"Give us just a minute and we'll show you," she tells me before walking out. Maxon turns around when he hears the door open and grins at me. He walks in, not waiting for a doctor's approval. He takes my hand and looks back towards the door. The crying outside stops.

"Maxon, what happened?" I ask. His hand gently squeezes mine.

"I think you should just wait and see," Maxon says with a cheeky grin. I release a small sigh through my nose and look back towards the door, waiting for the nurse to come back.

Two or three minutes later, the doorknob is turned and the nurse comes in, pushing the door open with her back. A pink bundle is in her arms. She carries it carefully and smiles down at the pink blanket.

I look over at Maxon. "Is that our. . ." I begin to ask. Maxon nods as the nurse brings the bundle over to me and puts it in my arms with a smile.

"Queen America, meet your daughter," the nurse tells me. I gasp as tears form in my eyes. Despite being a newborn, the baby already has a thick patch of short, red hairs. Her blue eyes dazzle as they stare up at me. Maxon reaches out and takes her small hand. It wraps around one of his fingers.

"She's beautiful," I say to no one in particular. Maxon looks at me and leans over, placing a kiss on my temple.

"Just like her mother," he says to me. Joy fills me as I stare at the child in my arms. She is a work of art, one made of love. She is a beautiful addition to a beautiful family.

Hi, guys! I'm really sorry that this took me soooooo long. After this, it will only be an epilogue. I hope that I will get that done soon. It is possible that I might write it today and post it tomorrow. I will have to see. Opinions on this chapter?
