Previously on D.L:
Just then a car came speeding down.
When Elizabeth looked up she realized it as Meliodas was still crossing.
"MELIODAS LOOK OUT FOR THE-"
Third POV present time~
It was too late though, as the car screeched and couldn't slow down in time.
It hit him in the blink of an eye, as Elizabeth watched his body fall down to the ground limp as he slipped into unconsciousness.
" MELIODAS!" Elizabeth screamed, running towards him.
And as for the driver of that car? They left the scene.
Not even bothering to check if he was ok.
And in Elizabeth eyes everything went by in a whizz as paramedics came and took Meliodas away as they tried to pry his body off of Elizabeth who was in tears.
And considering everything, she only thought this sentence over and over again.
" it's all my fault, I should have hurried up... I SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN HIS PLACE!" Elizabeth sobbed out the last part.
" come on Elizabeth, where going to the hospital, let's go." Diane spoke sorrowfully as she held out her hand for Elizabeth.
Elizabeth sniffled as she then got up as she went with Diane and the other to the hospital.
The car ride to the hospital was silent, with only Elizabeth sniffles to fill up the emptiness.
They were more than just upset, especially Elaine since she knew that Elizabeth would put she'd blame on herself, that's always how she's been and how she always will be.
" it's all my fault... I should have hurried up.." Elizabeth muttered to herself.
" Elizabeth... can you tell us what happened?" King asked quietly.
Diane scowled at him and then mouthed " no, not now."
" well since you guys are his best friends it is right for you to know.." Elizabeth spoke
" so earlier today I asked Meliodas if he could drop me at my place since I didn't have my car and he said sure, and when we were heading down to his car and he said to hurry up since he road was usually busy at this time, so across the street I dropped my phone so I naturally decided to pick it up when I was getting up I noticed a car driving fast and Meliodas was still walking across so I shouted Meliodas look out for the car but it was too late and he got hit..." Elizabeth sniffled.
" Elizabeth it wasn't your fault it was an accident..." Ban spoke
Elizabeth just stayed silent.
At the hospital~
They walked into the hospital and went straight to the reception desk.
" let me guess your here for the blonde boy that was rushed in?" The receptionist asked
They all nodded.
" well you have to wait an hour or two since he was rushed into the ICU, poor kid, from what I hear he broke his left arm one of his ribs that nearly punctured his lung." The receptionist sighed
And that didn't make Elizabeth feel any better.
" floor 7, on the right room 108 and wait outside at the waiting area." The receptionist explained
And they wasted no time doing so.
Waiting outside for what seemed like hours on end, when really it had only turned to be an hour.
" I'm going to the vending machine does anyone want anything?" Ban asked
" skittles."
" water."
" any kind of chips."
" ok, Elizabeth?" Ban said turning to her
" nothing... I'm good." Elizabeth shook her head as she brought her knees to her face hugging them.
And after awhile a doctor came out with a small smile.
" luckily it wasn't too severe but he's unconscious since he hit his head pretty hard, but judging of how he looks we might have to p him in a medically induced coma, just to be on the safer side.
Everyone else was smiling, but not Elizabeth, she didn't want him in a coma, she didn't want to see him smile in a week or god knows how long, it sounded selfish but she didn't want him to lay there on a table with doctors trying to save him, she wanted him to up and happy, no one was supposed to be hurt.
" right now he's been transferred to a room so you guys can feel free to visit from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, so you all have a wonderful evening." The doctor concluded as he then left.
" well we should get going... "Elizabeth spoke on her own.
And so they left.
With the driver~
" so? Did you do it?" Liz asked as she stared at the driver
" we may have a problem.." the driver spoke timidly.
" what do you mean?" Liz sneered
" I'm sorry! I missed Elizabeth and I accidentally hit Meliodas and I panicked so I left!" THe driver squealed in terror
" ZANERI! I give you one simple job to hit Elizabeth then leave, and you manage to mess that up? Ugh, you hit MY boyfriend!" Liz shouted
Zaneri had enough.
" He isn't your boyfriend and I honestly don't see what he sees in you, you are such a fake snake, you are a manipulative liar and newsflash I was throwing shade at you, b*tch good luck cause I'm transferring out again and I'm telling the cops on you!" Zaneri spat.
" you wouldn't!" Liz crossed her arms
" and what makes you think I wouldn't, after all I know something you don't." Zaneri scoffed
" and that would be?" Liz questioned
" Kyla and Marie, they've been plotting against you, you have used them and don't even bother to thank them, and you take all the credit, I'm not surprised though?that's how you are! a selfish jerk,see you never, ta-ta!" Zaneri waved as she left Liz.
" this wasn't supposed to happen.... Meliodas wasn't supposed to get hurt.."Liz spoke silently with her thoughts filling up in her head.
She turned to a piece of shattered glass, and looked at herself.
She looked and felt terrible.
" what happened to me...."
