Present time, present day.
Nana tied up her hair and made some cereal. She sat down at her small table, one made specially for her by the village woodworker.
It wasn't like this before. But she got used to living alone.
She drank the last of her milk and washed the dishes. After that she tucked a cute container with food into her basket. She couldn't do anything else but go outside... She might even burn up her house using her power; she regarded it as an uncontrollable curse.
Her cat, followed her outside to the big forest. She conjured a small, squishy paw-shaped pillow and took a nap under a mahogany tree.

Harith rolled off his bed and crashed into his father's books- which his grandfather made him read endlessly. His grandfather who was downstairs called him for breakfast.
"I've decided.... Since you can protect yourself... You can go outside." his grandfather said, laying down his spoon.
"Psh. What will I do outside anyway? Mom and Dad disappeared outside."
"Huh... You never learn, like your parents. Go outside once you finish your dinner. Be back by night."
Without a word, he proceeded to eat. Then he got up, went outside and shut the door.
"Sigh, kids these days."
The sun burned him so he covered himself with his scarf. He saw a sign that said 'forest'.
He walked towards it, and found a rock under a tree to read in. He opened his book and started to read.
"Maybe the outside isn't bad." he thought.

Nana woke up to her cat poking her face. She wiped off a snot bubble and yawned. She felt a jolt of motion behind her, that wasn't hers. She found herself face to face with another Leonin... Obviously he didn't look too happy.
"Oh.. I'm sorry."
"Go away."
"Umm... No. The forest is to be shared."
Nana ignored the boy and took out her food. The aroma was delectable.
".....Can I have some of that?"
"Say please."
"Tch... Please."
Nana turned around and offered the container to him. He hestitantly took a treat.
"You sure this isn't poison?"
She snorted, annoyed.
"You asked for it, obviously I wouldn't be eating it if it was poison."
Harith crossed his arms and turned away.
"You're so mean."
Nana gasped.
"You started it! Jerk... Just have some of my tarts." she said, passing the container.
He picked one up and ate it, trying to deny that it was actually delicious.
"It's not like it's good... But I'll have another one."
'Another one' was an understatement for five minutes later, the whole box was finished.
"I want more."
"Wow! I've never seen a person who likes my cooking except Irithel." she squealed.
"Wha- YOUR cooking?"
"Yep! It's delicious, right? Hold on, I can make more at home."
"O-okay... It's just not bad. It's mediocre.."
"You know that it's good... Teehee."
"Fine, maybe it is. Let's go to this home of yours, I'm hungry again."
And so, a friendship was born that day.
Everything was the same.
Alice didn't colonize the Empire.
Miya and Alucard never talked to each other again.
Odette and Lancelot got peacefully married.
But this story...
If the village didn't burn, the friendships, alliances, romance and courage won't exist.
Everything happens for a reason.
