Chapter 1- Learning their true

First chapter of the new book! I'd like to give a shoutout of my co-editor for doing a fabulous job, on this chapter. Now continue.....

Jem's Pov:

Light from the sun shined on my eyes, making me wake up with a jolt. As my eyes ajust to the brightness, I realized that I'm not in Richard's room. Oh, that right. I left, and now I'm in Ethina with my four teachers. I got out of bed, and went into the shower. A long hot shower relaxed my tense muscles. Once I was finished I grabbed a towel from the hook, and went over too my new closet. Ava said that they'd have cloths for me to wear.

I opened it to find a variety of differnt clothing, I grabbed the first thing I saw and put it on. I had on a white top with black sweat pants, and white shoes. When I'd walked out of my room, I happened to see Devin and Amanda talking not too far away. When I was close enough, their attention pointed to me.

"Morning Jem." Amanda said.

"Morning too you too Amanda. So Devin, when do we begin training?" I asked.

"Training doesn't start today, we'll begin in two day tops. But for now, we have much to discuss." He said.

He grabbed my arm and led me down a hallway, with Amanda following close behind us. After a while of walking, we arrived in a private library. Why would he wanna talk to me here? I thought. "Sit here Jem." He motions for me to a seat across from him, and I followed his order.

"We aren't as we seem Jem, you see we appear as mere mortals, do we not?" Amanda asked.

"Well yah, you do look human. At least I'm pretty sure." I commented, mumbling the last part.

"Well we're not, infact we're far from mortals." Then a light appeared infront of me where they were, and I sheilded my eyes from the blinding light. When I could see again, I was shocked to what was infront of me. Amanda was a m-m-mermaid?! She had a purple tail, and her hair seemed longer than before. As for Devin, he didn't look differnt at all.

"So your telling me Amanda your a m-mermaid? But what are you Devin?" I asked.

"My true powers are awakened when I turn them on, in which I did. So I can do." Then he dissapeared from sight. "Anything." He whispered. I looked up to see that he was floating in the air.

"Then what are Ava and Laton?" I asked confused.

"Ava is a hot head." Devin said laughing.

"What do you mean? Is she angry all the time?" I asked.

"No Jem, he means she's litterly a hot head. Meaning she's on fire, like a flame." Amanda explained.

"And Laton is?"

"Ava, Devin, and me are elements. Ava's fire, Devin's more connected to earth, and I'm obviously water. But Laton, he's dark. He uses people's fears to make them stronger, and that's dark magic. Witch craft you could say, and not the kind with the broom and spells. It's much more serious, he makes you live through them like your facing them head on." Amanda said.

"So any of my fears, could become my reality when he trains me?" They nodded their heads in responce. Well thats just great, good thing he's the last to train me. I thought.

"Be carfult when he trains you Jem, he is the leader you know." Devin said worried.

"As everyone keeps telling me, but what's so great about him being the leader anyways?" I asked.

"He's the leader because he beat all of us." This had caught my attention, all three of these powerful teachers could'nt take on one person? "A long time ago, all four of us competed in fighting competition against other people to prove our strength. After many wins, Laton suggested that since we were the strongest we should fight to pick the ultimate warrior and we agreed to it. But at the competition day he said he wanted to test his skills and battle all three of us combined against him.

I thought it was a good idea, since I thought he wasn't that strong in the beginning. But right before the fight began, I felt a wave of power just come off of him and then we started. The fight was brutal, we fought bravely against him, but we were no match and we we're defeated by him. Later on, he thought the four best fighters should be in a team together, and we became an official team. We trained to become masters in our arts, and we became legends. The best fighters of them all, but Laton was still the strongest and he always has been." Devin said.

"Well I think it's time to change back." Amanda said, she stood up from where she was sitting and her tail dissapeared and her regular cloths were back on. "Enough of this story time, we're in the future now. And know that you know about us. How about you think about everything we just said, it must be a little hard to grasp the fact." Then they started walking out.

"What a minute!" I said, then they looked back at me. "If you all are real, does that mean that there are other creatures out there?" I asked.

"We're only the good part of it, but there is different types of creatures out there that aren't very nice." Amanda said, then they continued to walk out and shut the door behind them. Leaving me alone in the office. So there are others out there. I thought.
