Chapter 11- Concequences come

A/N: Short Chapter ahead!

Jem's Pov:

As I slowly regained consciousness, I started moving my body but quickly regretted it. When I felt pain all over my body, making me yelp out a little. I looked at my surroundings and saw that I was no longer in the forest, but instead in some kind of Infermery.

Then all of the sudden, in came both Devin and Ava. "Devin? I thought you were hurt. What happened to your wounds?" I asked in confusion.

"That's what we're here to talk to you about Jem." Ava said slowly approaching me. "As you can see, Devin has no injuries at all. Not one scratch. Yet you Jem, have the injuries that Devin should've had." She explained.

"So? What does that mean?" I asked, still not quite getting her point.

"Jem, did you gain any new powers lately?" Devin asked, and I nodded my head in response. "Well what was it?"

"I gained a healing ability, and thats how I healed you. But then I blacked out right after." I explained to them. Ava and Devin shared a concerning look at each other for a moment, then turned back at me.

"Jem. You've gained one of your consequences in magic." Devin told me.

"What do you mean?" I asked dumbfounded.

"It means that when you gained your healing ability, you also gained a consequence when using it. Apparently when you used your magic on me, to heal me. My wounds were transferred to you through your magic ability. Making it obvious that whenever in the future when you use it, you'll get the wounds of the person you're trying to heal." He explained.

"Wow." I breathed out.

"You should get some more rest Jem, you have training with me tomorrow. And don't think that just because your injured, means that I'll ease up on you." Ava told me, with a smirk on her face.

"Obviously, I'd expect nothing more from you Ava." I told her.
