Kirstie POV
I left the hospital with Mitch and Scott after Avi fell asleep. Kevin was staying with him. Remembering what Mitch had told me, I had Scott walk on one side of me and Mitch on the other. I caught his eye and he gave me a little grateful smile. However, he was still walking with his head down, in a defeated sort of manner. As for Scott, he was chattering away, not seeming to notice that none of his audience was responding. Mitch was obviously in his head about Scott and I was thinking about Avi. When Kevin had called me and said he was hurt, my heart had skipped a couple of beats. I was so worried, I had rushed to the hospital immediately. I hoped he would be alright.
Scott POV
I was walking away from the hospital with Kirstie and Mitch, on the other side of Kirstie than Mitch. I was secretly grateful. Mitch had gotten clingy lately. For some reason, he hadn't wanted me to go on my date with Alex. To avoid any more awkwardness, I talked my head off about completely random things. I didn't want the Alex thing to come up. I just wanted Mitch to mind his own business and let me date who I wanted.
Mitch POV
As we walked away from the hospital, I thought deeply about Scott. A little voice in my head said that he didn't like me. He was dating Alex, for Pete's sake! But more of my brain said that he did like me. A lot of my brain was very hopeful. I decided to reveal my feelings to Scott. At that moment, I thought he would feel the same way.
I just had to come up with a great way to start our relationship. Maybe I could make him a home-cooked meal! Scott loved food, so that would be fitting! I nodded to myself, smiling a bit. Yes, that was it.
