"Mishka, please, stop squirming!" I sighed, trying to fit our little dog into her Teddy Bear costume, since that's what her name translates to in Russian. She wouldn't stop moving around, however, because she refused to wear the damn thing.
"Mishka!" Aleks called as he walked into the room. "Stop!"
Mishka stopped, staring at her dad. Aleks took the costume from me and put it on the dog, who didn't move a hair for him. I sighed.
"Go put Duchess's costume on her. She fights me, but not you." Aleks said, seeing the sad look on my face. I nodded and took the witch costume, putting it on Duchess. She looked so cute, so I took plenty of pictures of her and uploaded them to Twitter and Instagram.
Next, Aleks and I dressed up as a cat and dog, and took the pets to the park where there was a Halloween party going on that some of our friends were having, allowing pets to be here, too.
"Hey babe?" Aleks said, wrapping his arms around me. I looked at him, slightly confused.
"What's up?" I asked, feeling his lips touch me cheek.
"I'd like to go home now, and I think the pets would, too." Aleks said, holding the leashes to both of our pets. I nodded and took everyone to the car, getting the pets situated and driving home.
Once home, the four of us cuddled on the couch, watching cheesy Halloween movies like Hocus Pocus, and then switching to Paranormal Activity.
Aleks got up at one point, during PA. I began to get scared, cuddling Duchess as I waited for Aleks to return. I began to panic, trying to remind myself that Aleks was probably just in the bathroom, or getting a quick snack.
Aleks came back in, but I jumped and screamed, being frightened. He didn't even do anything but walk back into the room.
"Are you okay?!" He asked, running over to me. I nodde,d tears slowly forming and dropping from my blue-green eyes. Aleks sighed and pulled me into his arms, turning off the movie.
"I just went to get you candy...." He muttered, handing me the bag of Skittles. I smiled slightly, calming down from my little panic attack.
I opened up the bag and took a handful of the colorful candy. I threw it at Aleks shouting, "Taste the rainbow!" I then got up and ran.
Aleks chased me around the house for a while. Eventually, he caught me and we cuddled up on the bed again, eating our Skittles while the pets cuddled us at out feet.
This is how Halloween was spent, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
