Chapter 4

4 years later

"Emma can we talk?"  Zelena asks as we're laying in bed. "Of course sweetheart. What's up?"  "How would you feel if we moved back home?"  "Back home to Storybrooke?"  "Yes. I've been thinking about it a lot lately and with the baby coming it's really been on my mind. I keep thinking about raising a child here in a big city or in a nice quiet town like Storybrooke. What do you think".  I lean over and kiss her. "Baby I'll move wherever you want to go. I think moving back to Storybrooke to be closer to our family and friends would be a great idea".  "Really Emma?"   "Yes baby really. We'll have to figure a few things out before we go but I'm in". She kisses me. "Thank you my love". We found out Zelena was pregnant a few weeks ago. We both are so happy. We went to the doctor and she's approximately 15 weeks along now. This isn't something we planned but we weren't being careful either. The next weekend we went to Storybrooke to visit my parents and our friends. We're staying at Granny's B&B because Zelena and I like our privacy and it would be to weird to do "IT"  in my parents house. So just in case Zelena and I want to be intimate we always stay here when we visit. Its Saturday morning and we are having breakfast at Granny's. I haven't told my parents we're here yet because we got in late last night. It was a busy Friday afternoon on the streets of Boston yesterday, so I'll call them later. Ruby is working this morning so as our breakfast is cooking she takes a seat with us and we chat about what's been going on since we last saw each other. During our conversation we hear the bell on the door ring so the 3 of us looked over and we see Regina standing there. Zelena and I give her a smile but we get nothing in return. She walks to the counter and Ruby gets up to help her. We hear her tell Ruby what she wants for a to go order and Ruby goes into the kitchen to put the order in. Zelena looks at me and says she'll be right back. She gets up and walks over to Regina and sits next to her. "Hello Regina. It's nice to see you. You look great".  Zelena gets no response. "Regina please talk to me. It's been so long. I've missed my sister. Tell me what I can do to start making this right. We never meant to hurt you I swear". Still nothing. "Emma and I have decided to move back here within the next few months". Ruby comes walking out with Regina's to go order. "We found out we are having a baby and I really hope that our little one will get to be spoiled by their auntie". Regina pays for her things and gets up to leave. She looks over at me and then to Zelena. "Congratulations to you both. Maybe I'll see you around sometime". She gives us both a very small smile and walks out of Granny's. Ruby says. "Wow. I didn't see that coming".   Zelena comes back to the table with watery eyes. "You ok babe?"  "Yes. I think so. I can't believe she spoke to me. It's been over 5 years and she finally spoke to me".  "That's wonderful sweetheart. Maybe that's a good sign".  "I hope so Emma. I've really missed my sister". When Ruby brought our breakfast over Zelena really didn't want to eat it. I think she's a little emotional over what just happened. "Zelena honey. You have to eat something please. Not just for you but for the baby. Please sweetheart".  "Fine. Your so annoying when your right".  I stick my tongue out at her and she does the same. We laugh then start to eat. She eats more than I thought she would and I'm very happy about that. When we were done. I paid the tab and told Ruby we'd see her soon and then we went to see my parents. We decided that we would tell them that Zelena is pregnant. I can just imagine how my mother is going to act. She's gonna freak out so bad. She's gonna want to go start shopping immediately. We get to my parents house and I knock on the door. I turn the door knob and it's locked. So I ring the bell and knock again. "Hey. Open up or we're leaving".  I shout to the door. I hear someone running down the stairs and it's my dad that opens the door. "Hey. There you both are. Your mom and I were just cleaning up one of the spear rooms for you. Come on in. Where are your bags?"  "Dad you know we always stay at Granny's B&B when we visit".  "Yes but hopefully soon you'll stay here". I look at Zelena and smile. "Mary Margaret. Their here. Come on down. They aren't staying. Again". Dad says with a little laugh.  My mom comes down the stairs and walks quickly over to us and gives us a hug. We sit down and chat a bit about this and that and then it was time for the news. "So mom, dad. Zelena and I have a few things we want to tell you". I can already see the twinkle in my mothers eyes. "We've decided to move back to Storybrooke".  "Oh Emma. That's so wonderful. We've missed having you both around. It's been so long".   "I know mom and we'll be back soon. The next thing is that we saw Regina today and she actually spoke to Zelena. It was just a few words, but it's a start".  I hold Zelena's hand. My parents say how happy they are for Zelena. "Oh and there's one more thing but we can wait till later if you have something else to do".  Zelena just slaps my arm and says. "Emma just tell them I'm pregnant already".  Both my parents leap out of their seats and hug each other. "I knew it. I told you Mary Margaret. I'm gonna be a grandpa. I just knew it".  They rush over to hug us both. We talk about how far along Zelena is. We show them the ultrasound pictures. They both end up crying like babies. It really was adorable. It's a great moment for all of us and I also feel bad that my wife can't have the same moment with her family. Hopefully this new step with Regina will help them mend these old wounds. After my parents settle down we all sit and we talk to them about our plans for moving back here and how we are looking for a home for us and I need a new job. I told them I've been looking into the Maine State Police. They have a station not far from Storybrooke but my dad cut me off and told me the Sheriff's department in town was looking for a new head deputy and he thinks I'd be perfect for it. I'll definitely stop in there later to talk to someone. I'm sure my wife would rather me work in a quiet town instead of patrolling the highways and frankly so would I. Of course my mom has to chime in and tell us how a teachers husband at her school is a real estate agent and could probably help us out. I tell her to chill out a bit and that Zelena and I will find the perfect home on our own but I took his name and company name just in case. Zelena and I stayed and had dinner with my parents then we wanted to go back to Granny's B&B, but along the way we decided to take a drive around town. We were mostly looking for houses that were for sale but it was still nice to see our beautiful hometown. I took a left turn onto Mifflin street. "Emma my love what are you doing?"  "Just driving around sweetheart". She gives me a Yeah right look. It's a beautiful neighborhood that her parents just happen to live on. Before we get to her parents house we see a beautiful home with a for sale sign in front of it so I pull over quickly. "Emma it's beautiful".   We get out of the car and look around. It looks to be 2 stories and when we walked around the side it had a nice backyard. I can tell Zelena loves it right away and we haven't seen the inside yet. I step behind her and put my arms around her. I kiss her cheek and ask. "You already love it don't you?"  She nods. "Ok sweetheart. Let's go get the number off the sign and maybe we can see what the inside looks like".   We hold hands as we walk back to the front of the house. I go to my car and get some paper and a pen, then I take down all the information that's on the sign. As we start to walk back to the car to leave a woman comes out of the house. "Excuse me. Are you ladies interested in this house?"  I look at my wife and say. "Yeah we might be. Who are you?"  "I'm the real estate agent. We had an open house today. It ended an hour ago. I was just cleaning up to leave when I saw you writing down the info on the sign. Would you like to see the inside before I leave?"  I look at Zelena and she nods and I say. "Yes ma'am please". The agent smiles and says. "Ok then. Let's go inside". She takes us on a tour of the house and it's absolutely beautiful. It has a big beautiful kitchen that I know Zelena loves. There are 4 bedrooms, an attic, a completely redone basement that definitely needs to be my game/party room. Once the tour was over the agent asked if we liked it and we both did a lot. She told us the asking price, which was $423 thousand dollars. This house in Boston would so go for over a million dollars. We tell the woman that we will take it. She asks what our counter offer is and Zelena and I talk for a moment and then I say. "Just ask the sellers what is their bottom line amount and that's what we will pay".  The agent has a smile on her face. She gives me her card and I give her mine that has my cell number on it. We all shake hands and my wife and I leave to go back to the B&B.
