"Emma come on hurry up or you'll be late".  I hear my mother yell from downstairs. Today is my graduation day and I'm just sitting on my bed with my head in my hands. This weekend has been awful. Regina won't talk to me, Zelena is so upset. I can't imagine how this after graduation party is going to go. It'll be me, Zelena, Regina and their parents, along with my parents and all our friends who don't know about me and Zelena. I just know something is about to happen. "I'll be right down mom". I stand up from my bed and make sure I have my wallet, phone and keys. I take one last look in the mirror and leave to go to the auditorium for for our graduation ceremony. After the ceremony Granny is having a party for a bunch of us and our families so that's where we all meet up. All through the graduation ceremony Zelena and I shared a few smiles at each other but that was all and that continued while we were at Granny's. Regina noticed and kept giving us the evil eye. Zelena's mother noticed the tension with her daughters and had to ask what was going on. "It's nothing mother". Zelena says. Regina laughs and I can hear it because my parents and I are in the booth behind them and I'm thinking (please Regina don't say anything). Words go back and forth at the Mills table and they weren't so quiet. "Why don't you just tell mother and daddy who you've been seeing for almost a year now Zelena. Don't be ashamed. If your in love just say it". Zelena slams her silverware onto her plate making a loud noise for everyone to notice. She stands up and looks at me. "Fine Regina. Mother, daddy. I'm gay and I've been in a relationship with Emma Swan for more than 6 months. I don't care anymore about what any of you in this room thinks.  I love her and she loves me". I quickly get up and go to her side. The room is quite until Zelena's mother says that shes leaving. So her mother and father and Regina all leave as Zelena and I stand in the middle of Granny's with everyone looking on. Thank goodness someone played some music on the jukebox to break up the awkwardness of the situation. My parents asked Zelena to join us at their table and she did. We all talked for a bit about the last few months and why we didn't tell anyone. My parents understood and were happy for us being a couple. Unfortunately Zelena's family didn't feel the same. They pretty much cut her off. I know it hurt her even though she said she didn't care, but I'm here for her because I love her even if the people who are supposed to love her don't.

A/N  This next part is a bit of a fast forward of the next year.

After graduation I moved in with Zelena. We both are attending Boston University. I'm a freshman studying law enforcement and Zelena is going into her senior year in the culinary arts. She loves to cook. She said she got that from her parents. She wants to open an Italian restaurant some day. I love Italian food and since we've been living together I love being the guinea pig for her recipes and shit she can cook. For the next year Zelena and I lived happily together. Regina and her parents never contacted her. Zelena always tried to reach out to them but nothing worked. Zelena graduated with honors. She was second in her culinary class. After graduation she was instantly offered a job at the best Italian restaurant in Boston. Sorellina. She started off as the sous chef, but quickly became the head chef when her boss moved on. Needless to say their business more than doubled when Zelena took over. She revamped the menu and made new specials every day. She was killing it and I was so proud of her. She sent text messages to Regina and their parents giving them updates about her life but nothing was ever answered.

*time jump*

I can't believe it's now my graduation day from Boston University. I'm valedictorian of my class and even though I hate it I gave the speech in front of everyone. Most of my friends came except for Regina of course, but I understand. My parents were there along with Zelena and I have a surprise her later at my graduation party. After all the photos are taken and we all got to relax a bit, Zelena had a surprise for me. She got her restaurant to close down for the night for a private party, which she had her staff make all my favorite foods. I was in absolute heaven. The night was incredible. I couldn't have imagined a better ending to my college experience. My girlfriend closed one of the best restaurants in Boston for me. Shit. I'm in love. When the dessert is being wheeled out I stand up from our dinner table and get everyone's attention. "First of all I just want to thank you all for being here. I love everyone in this room including the woman who put this all together".  I look at Zelena and she's starting to cry. "Come here baby. I have something for you".   She gets up and walks to my side. She gives me a kiss and we laugh when we hear hoots and howls from our friends. I hold her close to me as I talk to our guests. "Thank you all for being here today. I hope you have all enjoyed what my girlfriend planed for us today. I can't believe that the last 4 years flew by the way they did. I also want to thank you all for supporting Zelena and I the way you have. It's always nice to know who your friends are".  I turn to Zelena and give her a kiss.  "I'm so happy that all the people I love are in this room right now so I can do this".  I take a small box out of my pocket and get down on one knee. "Miss Zelena Mills would you please marry me?"   Tears instantly fall from her eyes. "Emma. Oh my god".  "Is that that a yes?"   "Yes. It's a yes". I stand up as she leaps in my arms. We kiss and kiss. Everyone clapped for us. When we finally separated I placed the ring on Zelena's finger then we kissed again and hugged each other so tight. For the rest of the night we all partied on. I now have a beautiful new fiancé and I'm in  rolling into the Boston police academy. The day after I graduated I took the test and passed with flying colors. I went though 6 months of training and even though most people have to be on a waiting list for a while, I was selected to the Boston police department. It's amazing how our lives have turned out. It can only get better from here.
