𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐢𝐦

Jaemin enters the dorm, his eyes still red and puffy from crying earlier about Hyekyung's past.

Apparently, Chenle was quick enough to notice his eyes.

"Hyung, did you cry?" Chenle asked and all the boys looked at Jaemin who just put his bag down before sitting down on the sofa, still trying to process everything.

"Jaemin, can we talk alone?" Renjun asked, standing up and moving towards his bag, picking it up.

Jaemin just softly nodded. Renjun grabbed his arm and they head to Jaemin's room. Renjun placed his bag on his chair and Jaemin sits on the bed.

"What's wrong?" Renjun asked softly as Jaemin sighed.

"Hyekyung.. had heart failure before." He said and Renjun's eyes widened.

"What? Really?" He asked and Jaemin nodded.

"Eunhyuk Hyung told me and he also said that it got so bad that she was sent to the ICU and stayed there for 3 months." Renjun nodded and waited for him to continue until he starts to cry.

Jaemin explains everything, telling him everything Eunhyuk told him while crying. He wasn't even aware of it and it's all in the past but it was painful for him.

To hear that the girl he's been friends with has been in the hospital for more than 5 years and even stayed in the ICU.

Had a surgery on her birthday and it took 25 hours to have the surgery done. Had a heart transplant and could barely do anything on her own.

It was hard for him to take in and the fact that he just cut all their ties together hits him even harder.

"I don't know... what to do, Renjun... I feel so guilty... I didn't know she was suffering in the past... I really didn't deserve her...

She doesn't... deserve me.. she needs someone... so much better than me.." Jaemin's sobs and heavy breathing were basically the only sounds in the room.

"Yeah, you don't deserve her.." Renjun softly said and Jaemin's sobs became softer.

"But she always smiles around you... I don't know how you do it but she's just naturally happy around you, she smiles every second." He continued and Jaemin's sobs stopped.

"I don't know how but Hyekyung once told me that you're her lucky charm. She always thinks about you every time she performs.

She said that you are the only person that can make her so happy. She said you're the first person to ever brighten up her world.

I don't know how you do it but she loves you, Jaemin. If you don't believe me, why don't you watch her interview on January 1 2019?" Renjun asked and Jaemin's head rises at his words.

Renjun grabbed his phone and opened YouTube and typed in Hyekyung's interview on January 1 2019.

"Watch it until the end and talk to her.." Renjun said, exiting Jaemin's room. He played the video and starts to watch it.

"Out of all the people in your life, other than your own family, who would you like to stay in your life?"

"Hm... Na Jaemin?" She laughed and they asked why.

"Jaemin is just really special to me. He brightened up my world almost immediately when I met him and until now, I feel like he's my source of light ahead of the dark pathway.

I really love to stay beside Jaemin and be his close friend. I really love being around Jaemin, he's my lucky charm." She laughed again but then had a soft and gentle smile.

Jaemin softly smiles, laying down on his bed as he continues to watch the video.

"I want to stay with you too.." He said softly and continue watching.

"Choose a person you want to have a collaboration."

"Uhm...Stray Kids' 3Racha... maybe with Baekhyun and Chanyeol and... hmm, Jaemin?" She smiles at the camera.

Jaemin chuckled when Hyekyung laughed when she mentioned his name again.

"Any celebrity crushes? Girl or boy."

"Hmm... never really had an idol crush but actress crush, yes and it's Suzy Bae." She covers her mouth with her sweater paw.

"And boy celebrity crush is Jaemin again..?" She said, getting even more shy.

Jaemin smiles widely when she mentioned his name once again. He heard the interviewer laugh in the background.

"You seem to mention Jaemin a lot... do you have a thing for him?"

"I sorta do, I guess. Other than our friendship, I do feel like we're so close to each other." She admitted, nodding and starts to fiddle with the necklace he gave her.

Jaemin's smile disappeared when the interviewer asked the next question.

"Do you like Jaemin?"

"In what way? Friendship or romantic?" She asked and the interviewer chuckled.

"Romantic."

"Hmm, that's kind of personal but all I could say is that I treasure him so much and I don't want to lose Jaemin. He's too important for me.

And if I lose him, I think... bad luck will start to target me once again just like in my past." She weakly smiled.

Jaemin's heart starts to hurt again. The words; 'once again' hit him like an arrow aiming for his heart.

Jaemin puts his phone down and put on his jacket. He rushes out of the dorm, running towards to Hyekyung's house before he becomes late.

"What's wrong with Jaemin?"

"Let him be... maybe, he snapped out of his thoughts and realized how he truly feels..."
