As much as I loved Lance, he could be a fucking idiot.
I swear to God, sometimes it's a curse loving and wanting to be with someone so bad.
Keith runs up to me, hands shaking my shoulders. "Y/N! There you are, where the Hell have you been?" He shouts, obvious worry taking place on his face. I gulp, "I-I just came back from a solo mission Allura had for me." I wasn't lying, I did come back. But I had begged Allura to give me the mission instead of Shiro because I needed get away from Lance. He and I had a little fight, which then resulted in shouts, glares, insults and mini attacks happening. So we decided that it was best if we went our seperate ways for now. We both needed time to cool off since we were both stubborn.
My brother sighs, "Y/N, you can't just do that. I nearly had a heart attack when Allura told me you were gone off somewhere by yourself." I rub the back of my neck anxiously, walking towards the lounge room with him. "Sorry, Keith. I just needed some time by myself." He seems surprised by my answer. Me and Lance would be tied to the hip, always with each other and laughing around. Maybe that's what he was ticked off about. Keith not seeing me with Kance must've triggered something. "What do you mean by that?" He asks me. I shrug my shoulders, dropping my hands from my head. "Me and Lance... We're rocky at the moment. I think we just need some time to think. I'm still a bit mad at him, and he's mad at me." I admit.
"Are you two okay? Are you breaking up?" He whispers, hand on my shoulder. I rub my cheek, groaning, "No! I mean... I-I don't know. We're both still upset at each other and haven't made an effort to talk to the other." I give a light chuckle. "To be honest, I don't even remember what the argument was about. I just recall Lance's frustrated face when he walked out of the room." I stop on my tracks, leaning my bag against the wall. Keith was one of the two people I could really - like deeply - talk about Lance with. He stands beside me as I rant on. "I love Lance, I always will. He's my everything, but I just don't understand him sometimes. We've never fought this big before, I'm just... Gah! He's so-so irritating sometimes!" I begin to pace in the hallway, Keith tilting his head at me.
"He's so childish at times! When I need him to be serious and actually work with me, he can't. It's like his head is somewhere else when I'm talking to him. Lance is just getting on my last nerve. That mission let me get out some steam, but I still have a lot left!" I throw my hands up in the air, finally taking a breather. "I care about Lance. I never want him to think otherwise, but there are times when we need to put away our feelings so we aren't biased." Keith grabs me by the shoulders, facing me to him.
He says, "You and that idiot are in love. I get it. You made a mistake, the both of you. But remember that you're in love. I remember you telling me that one of the reasons you had a crush on the loser was because he was always putting the fun in everything, always making you smile. I know that you love his childish side."
I grunt, "I do..."
"So, take your time and speak to him. Got it?" I nod my head.
Keith returns the gesture as the doors open. Immediately, the air seems cold and my anger levels go up again. Lance, Pidge, Hunk and Shiro are there, all talking happily. Well, they stop when Lance throws a glare my way. It was fine, we're both stubborn people and the fight only happened a few hours ago, like three. I throw one back, walking around the room and muttering out, "I'm going to the training deck, call me for dinner." My brother hums back in return, "Don't get yourself hurt." I roll my eyes with a small smile. "Of course, Keith." I watch the doors in front of me open, and out comes Allura. She smiles brightly at me.
"Y/N, welcome back. How was your mission?" She asks, gleeful smile. I respond, "It's was relaxing. Met some of the townsfolk and got a little information. Thanks, by the way." Allura gives me a playful wink before walking towards the other Paladins. I turn to watch her, when I notice Lance's stare on the princess. I know he was out to get her, but when we got together he and I forgot about it. Until now. He waves at her and pats the space beside him, giving a gentle and loving smile. I can't help but silently scowl, furrowing my brows and clenching my jaw before walking out.
