"Jet, could you pass me the wrench with the green please?" Y/N asked, holding her hand out from under the Red Tail. Once she felt a heavy weight on her palm, she pulled it up and began using the wrench to fix up a part of Faye's ship. "Thank.you."

Jet retorts, over on the other side of the room trying to figure out what was wrong with Spike's Swordfish II, "No worries. Hey, do you think that when you're done, you could help me with Spike's ship? He did something to its controls and I can't figure it out."

Having another mechanic on board the Bebop was very helpful for Jet. When Faye and Ed came into the mix, it only added to the chaos around the mainship. Y/N was level-headed, helping solve the conflict alongside Jet.

She first came on-board to help Faye with her ship. It was an old design, way different to Spike's. Jet had a hard time fixing it up. Y/N's been Faye's personal mechanic for a few years, she was the one to give her the Red Tail. They were close.

Which is why Spike had been so wary of her at first. He thought she was whiney and irritating just like Faye, but she was different. Spike grew to hold romantic feelings for Y/N. When she confronted him about them, he played it off as friendly teasing, platonic flirting. Y/N knew otherwise.

Being in a relationship with him was nice. He would always take the chance to be sweet to her and he respected the time she spent by herself, doing her own things.

But it just so happened that she'd been busy too long for Spike's liking.

"Y/N..." A voice called out from the top of the stairs.

She ignored it, currently spinning a bolt onto the junction of the Red Tail. The hanger door was open, the Bebop currently on the surface of a large body of water. With a breeze slightly blowing around, Spike rode down the flight of stairs, nodding at Jet and walking towards Y/N.

She was half-way below the ship, laying on top of a roller board to slide in and out from under the ship.

"Y/N, it's been six hours and I'm about to head to bed!" Spike grumbled out, hands in his pockets as he hovers over her, "Look — the sky is already dark, you haven't even eaten dinner yet."

"Actually I have." She states, sliding out from under the ship and making Spike's eyes sparkle at the sight of her. Y/N walks towards Jet, grabbing the towel from beside him and wiping her dirty hands. "Jet and I ate down here about an hour ago."

She points to the small table on the other side of the room, where empty plates and opened cans sat. Spike furrowed his eyes at the scene, scowling, "You ate without me? I was waiting for you!"

Y/N slouches her shoulders and puts the rag down, walking towards Spike and picking up his hands in hers.

"I'm sorry, but the amount of damage you and Faye did to your ships is too much for just Jet to handle." She stated, tilting her head to the side with a slight grin, "But once I finish helping Jet with your ship, I'll come to bed. Just give me another hour or so."

Spike bit his lip, hating how it was partly his fault for the lack of affection he was getting from his girlfriend. It was bad enough that he had been lectured by Jet about the ship., but now he's lessened the time he has with her.

"Y/N..." He grumbles, pulling her into his embrace and wrapping his arms tightly around her, "Come on, Jet's a big boy. He's handled worse."

Jet glared at the other man, sitting up from the pilot seat of the Swordfish II. "You're a big boy too, Spike." He claimed, pointing a screwdriver towards him, "You shouldn't get your ship so wrecked from a simple delivery mission."
