Saying 'I Love You' (Demon Slayer)

(A/N: Nezuko's preference can be seen as  platonic/romantic. It's your choice. Personally, I'd love to be her sister, she's such a pure bunny I want to protect. And I only ended up doing Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, Inosuke and Giyuu, because those were the mains I followed a lot through the series. And the other Pillars... I have a hard time trying to understand them fully with only little information.)

Kamado Tanjiro:

Tanjiro P.O.V:

This was the first time I had ever had felt the need to burst into tears. Willingly.

I was finishing up my training for today, as Mr Urokodaki has given me plenty of work to get through. My hands had blisters from the grip of my sword. My hair was longer and soon needed to be cut short. My clothes were dirty and my shoes were ruined. And Nezuko was still asleep.

The door to our little cabin slides open and I can see Y/N standing in front of me. She widens the grin on her face and engulfs me in a warm hug.

I sigh, pulling her into my embrace and stepping forward into the room, sliding the door shut behind me. Once the wind is out, I relax and let my head fall onto hers, breathing in her sweet scent.

"You were training for so much longer today. You look more warn out tonight." She states, running a hand up and down my back. I nod my head, saying, "Well, it is expected since my training has been going on for nearly a year."

Y/N lifts her head off of my chest and smiles up at me. She hums, "You've been working so hard, Tanjiro. I'm so proud of you." Her fingers touch my cheek and I lean into the feeling, Y/N rubbing her thumb against my skin.

Y/N was a student under Mr Urokodaki for much longer than me. We've known each other ever since Tomioka had tried to slain Nezuko. I chuckle back, leaning over and rubbing a fingers across her forehead, "Thank you, Y/N. Now please, you seem tired from your own training too. Have you been staying up for me?" I look out to the window, seeing that it was very dark out.

She only makes a small noise to indicate that I was right. I grin softly, moving our bodies towards our beds. She lets go of me and sits at my mat. She pats the fabric, meaning that she wanted me to get into my bed. Once I'm comfortably inside, she pulls the covers up and ruffles my hair.

She leans down and kisses my forehead, whispering to me, "Goodnight, Tanjiro. I love you." My throat goes dry when she pulls away. I can feel my heart beating against my skin and it's because of her. My eyes are stinging, my fave is blushing. As she moves to her mat beside mine, I turn my head and whisper back, "I love you too, Y/N."

That emits a small giggle from her. I can just barely see the smile dawning on her lips. She glances at me again before her eyes drop and she's drifting to sleep.

I can't help but wait until she's softly breathing in her sleep. She looks so peaceful, calm. It makes me sigh a little.

"Beautiful."

Kamado Nezuko:

Y/N P.O.V:

I put a hand on the table, listening as Tanjiro tells me about his work on trying to bring Nezuko back to being a human. "I haven't made that much progress yet... But trust me!" He holds up a fist, a determined look on his face. "I will give Nezuko her life back again! Nezuko deserves better!"

A smile grows on my face. He was always so caring towards his sister, even though she had changed his kind nature didn't. I look to my left, seeing Nezuko sitting beside me, closed eyes and soft snoring. I hum, "Yeah, she sure does." Tanjiro nods his head, a closed eye smile.
