Chapter 15: Sorry

Vondell POV

The moment she agreed to become my girlfriend, I feel like I'm in some sort of heaven. She's been more intimate and open with me about everything.... and finally, after many moments of wondering, I've finally found out the reason why she was like that the first time I met her.

"My mo-mother just treated me like a doll. I was just something she can order to do anything. My interests, my hobbies, my dreams... they were all aligned to her own desires. I never really had anything myself." she said while tearing up.

It breaks my heart seeing the girl I love melt down like this. Oh, only if the heavens would allow me to take all the pain she's feeling. My heart shatters with every cry she makes.

"My father doesn't care about anyone but himself... then my relatives, they only see me as a moneybank. I know it's pathetic... I'm just so pathetic for being upset but it hurts so much. I love them the most and gave them my whole life but they don't show just a little bit of care for me... are they even family?" she said while crying with new tears again.

Although I am all alone in this world, I was well loved by my parents so I couldn't really relate to what she's saying. But I could feel every pain she feels in her words.

I held her tighter and kissed her forehead to calm her down. To remind her that now, she has me.

"Shhh... it's okay, I understand you. I feel your pain. You don't have to be guilty for your emotions." I said softly.

Pero mas lalo pa siyang umiyak. I guess it's fine that way. It's like the emotions she's been bottling up for so long are finally released. That's right, from now on, you don't have to pretend to be fine anymore. You don't have to do things that someone else tells you to do... with me, you are your own person. You are free.

"In the future, I'll marry you and we'll have children of our own. We'll treat them with full of love and support. They won't ever have to experience that. They'll be so lucky to have you as their mom..." I said sweetly.

Habang umiiyak parin, she nodded at me and kissed me on my lips.

Even though we have already kissed a lot of times, I still get surprised when she's the one doing the initiative. She's having trouble being showy with her affection but everytime she does, it just makes it so much more meaningful.

"I love you. I'm so glad I met you. You're right all along... you are my savior." she said in a sweet voice.

No, you're wrong. You're the one who saved me. You're the one who painted bright colors into my dull life. You're the one who made me find a purpose and reason to live again.

Kung hindi ko siya nakilala, malamang ay di ako kailanman magpapa-treatment. Pero dahil gusto ko mabuhay para sakanya, I'll go and do whatever it takes to heal.

I'll live for her.

But when just when I thought I could make our happy dream together last forever, life punched me right in the face.

"Mr. Castainer, your condition have worsened because you have delayed treatment for so long and you've also continually smoked. If you did your treatment on the day you found out, maybe we could've still treated it because it was still acute back then." sabi ng doktor.
