Chapter 19: Lived Fully

Vondell POV

It upsets me how Chevelle had to find out about my condition and last will in such an ugly way. I was going to tell her myself days before the operation, damn it!

I already had my suspicions before when Brielle came to my house out of the sudden knowing I had lupus. How the fuck did she even know that?

But with her finding out about my last will, that's just out of this world. Ang nakakaalam lang sa last will ko ay si Atty. De Guzman. I knew he was greedy but I didn't know that he'd go this far. I don't even know whatever the fuck they were trying to do.

Although I would very much not like to them, I had to. I had to do this. If I'm going to leave Chevelle all alone, I don't want her to do deal with nuisances like them.

Just days before my operation, I set up a meeting date to meet both of them.

"I know why you did all and I'm here to exactly give you two what you want. Atty. De Guzman, I will pass all my stocks to you in Brighton Airport." I said in a bored tone as I glared at him.

I looked at the woman next to him and felt disgusted. Even before, I didn't like high-maintenance chicks so I rarely dated anyone with the same status as me. I went for poorer, average girls but all along, they just wanted me for my money and nothing else.

That was what made Brielle different though... or at least I thought. I thought she truly loved me for who I am but when another man came with fat pockets of money, she left me straight away.

Now that I think about it, I'm actually glad I've experience all of that. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't stop trying to hide who I really am. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have met Chevelle...

"As for you, I've already talked to Mr. Martinez. He won't ever get involved with you now. I also got you and your Mom a house in this subdivision." I told her coldly as I handed her a land deed.

Both of them didn't say anything and just looked at me nervously.

"I'm a dying man, after all. So I couldn't really punish you two even if I want to. I'm doing all this because I want both of you to leave Chevelle alone. I've already contacted my comrades in the various empires and they're going to keep a watch on you two even if I die." I said in a deadly voice.

"Von. Please be well. Please live." Brielle said out of the sudden. The guts of this woman, really!

I glared at her that made her look a bit embarrassed.

"I didn't ask you to speak. Both of you can fuck off now and I hope you don't underestimate the power of someone like me. Don't ever mess with Chevelle." I said bitterly.

Those wore my last words to them. In the end, all the people around me really just stick to me for what I have. They just want something off me, sucking up to me like a leech.

That's why, even though I have this fate, I'm thankful to have at least met her.

"It's okay, I'm going to be fine." I whispered to her.

It hurts me to see her so much in pain right now. She was sobbing and screaming hysterically because I'm going to finally have my operation in a few minutes.

"Pl-please don't leave me. You're the only one I have in this world." she said while sobbing.

I smiled at her and gave her a kiss on her lips.

"I love you." sabi ko.

In this world, I am happy even in this dire moment... all because of you. Because I met you, I feel like I've lived my life to the fullest. I don't regret anything at all.

I'm so glad I met you, Chevelle. Thank you for allowing me to love you and giving me all your love as well.
