"Trust is like a mirror, you can fix it if it's broken,
but you can still see the crack in that mother fucker's reflection."
― Lady Gaga

Trust is such a fickle thing.
It's also an important part or aspect of a healthy relationship, but it's something that many people struggle with, for a lot of different reasons.
What does trust mean? Trusting someone means that you think they are reliable, you have confidence in them and you feel safe with them physically and emotionally. Trust is something that two people in a relationship can build together when they decide to trust each other. You can't demand or prove trust; trusting someone is a choice that you make.
Trust is both an emotional and logical act. Emotionally, it is where you expose your vulnerabilities to people, but to believe they will not take advantage of your openness. Logically, it is where you have assessed the probabilities of gain and loss, calculating expected utility based on hard performance data, and concluded that the person in question will behave in a predictable manner. In practice, trust is a bit of both. I trust you because I have experienced your trustworthiness and because I have faith in human nature.
We feel trust. Emotions associated with trust include companionship, friendship, love, agreement, relaxation, comfort.
so, should I be feeling utter devastation at this moment? because at this moment, I regret putting my trust into him as I hear a voice so melodious it could rival a siren, spreading about coming closer.
As closer and clearer the voice becomes the more I tense up in Evan's arms, the more he continues to tighten his arms around me as if to assure him I won't bolt or vanish into thin air. The sound of heels eco through the apartment as they make their way towards us and stop at the entrance of his room.
''Evan,'' the feminine voice exclaims with glee, ''did you know about what hector had planned on doing?'' She asks, a smile in her voice.
Evan remains unresponsive, his arms tight around me, anchoring me to him, ''please,'' he whispers in my ear, his lips skimming the skin of it, ''Just-'' he sighs, tense,'' listen to me before jumping to conclusions, before leaving me. Just please for once, let me explain.''
The desperation in his voice makes me close my eyes in exhaustion and pain that only comes along being around him, ''why should I?'' I question softly, my whisper barely a whisper as I look into his soul-bearing green eyes, ''why should I, when you continue to take that trust and stomp over it again and again. when you continue to make me question your feelings for me every step of the way?''
He inhales shakily, removing one of his arms from around, bringing up his hand to my face, tracing my jaw, gently with his calloused yet soft thumb, ''Because, if you don't find my explanation valid enough or reasonable enough, then I'll let you go and never approach.'' you ever again, no matter how fucking obsessed I am with you and no matter how much it'd hurt me to see you move on.''
His admission has me nearly trembling in the knees, his words having a tidal effect on me as he continues to stroke my jaw. The thought of never seeing him again brings an unexplainable ache to my chest, with my heart twisting I give him a barely noticeable nod.
He releases me from the safety of his arms, but not before placing a soft yet firm kiss on my forehead. He stands beside me, his arm slips around my waist and tugs me to his firm side and the both of us finally, finally raise our eyes to the woman in question.
