Our trip to Mexico was just days away and a lot had changed in just a couple of months. For one thing, I wasn't so nervous about filming anymore---but I guess that had a lot to do with Leo.

The two of us had become incredibly close---inseparable almost. When we were at the studio, Diane always called us 'two peas in a pod.' We would spend all our time at each other's apartments, practicing the scenes, pigging out on Chinese food, and laughing until 3 AM. I had found that he was incredibly easy to open up to. Getting close to him came so naturally that it felt like I had known him my whole life.

Currently, Paul and I were at the studio in a private room taking dance lessons. There was a small scene in the movie where Juliet and Paris are dancing at the costume ball---but Juliet is staring at Romeo the whole time, not really paying attention to Paris. Baz had hired someone to teach us the basics of waltzing so we didn't completely fuck up while filming.

"Bev, if you step on my foot one more time, I swear I'm gonna run away and quit this movie," Paul groaned dramatically as I laughed loudly at his complaints. "I'm sorry! Okay, okay I won't do it again," I apologized in between my giggles, looking down at my feet and concentrating as we danced. Paul rolled his eyes and lifted my chin up with his hand. "You can't look down, either."

Baz opened the door loudly and entered with Leo by his side. "Hello, my dancers! How's it going?" he chuckled, placing his hands on his hips and watching our attempts. "She's improving...slowly," Paul snickered as I slapped his arm.

"You guys should dance to the actual song that's going to be playing in the scene so you can get the tempo down right away," Baz suggested, whipping out his phone and scrolling through songs. "It's actually a very important song. It's the song that plays when Romeo and Juliet first meet and it plays during their romantic scenes throughout the movie such as their first night making love and what not."

"So, it's like, our song?" Leo laughed, blowing me a kiss jokingly. I pretended to catch it and place it on my cheek, returning the smile. Baz nodded, still looking down at his phone and laughing. "Precisely. I want this song to leave a statement in the movie."

"What's the song?" I wondered, still dancing with Paul who was getting annoyed at my lack of paying attention. "It's 'Kissing You' by Des'ree. Beautiful song. Emotional, really," Baz replied, finally clicking on the song. A slow piano tune sounded through the room and Paul and I looked at each other, cracking up when we realized we had been dancing about ten times faster than the actual tempo.

Baz chuckled before placing his phone on a table so we could continue dancing. "If you guys are having trouble practicing the intimate scenes, I suggest playing this song while you rehearse. You'd be surprised at how much music affects your acting abilities," Baz pointed out, gesturing to Leo and I. Leo pressed his lips into a thin line and raised his eyebrows at me. "Tell that to Bev."

I glared at him for exposing me in front of Baz. Every time Leo and I practiced, I refused to rehearse the intense kissing parts and stuff, so we had just been skipping over them. I figured we'd just do it when the time came, but Leo always insisted that it was crucial to actually practice them. Doing it on camera or when you actually had to was one thing. Doing it in complete privacy was just awkward. Baz shook his head at me and gave me a look. "Better get used to it, honey. It's super important that you guys practice everything."
