"Listen pretty girl, don't want you getting hurt tonight." Some jackass began following me from work. I made my way into an alleyway where his gang appeared and surrounded me.

"I don't want to break someone's face tonight." I groaned.

"Big talk for a Little Princess." One of the hang members was two centimeters from my body. He tried to grab my face with his musk of a hand.

I grabbed it and dropped kicked him. Men started swinging at me. I dodged, I pulled out my wrist crossbow. I jumped and flipped in the air shooting each thing where it hurts. They retreated.

"We don't want you masked in our town!" One of them Shouted.

I panted a bit. Pulling my sleeve over my weapon. I smirked to myself, "Robin Hood makes another flawless shot." I simply rolled my eyes as the gang shouted more profanity. Walking out of the other side of the alley, I stepped on a newspaper, "Nuclear War." It said.

I took a deep breath and started walking away. As I strode, I started to recount the day I took on this legacy.

.....

I was only nineteen when I learned my brother was killed in Vietnam. Pa got a letter from an old-time colleague, and he immediately started putting a bag together. He gave no one an answer, so I stowed away on my stallion, Nottingham. It took one full day and one full night, with occasional rest stops, but we entered in New York. The truck came to a stop near a closeup bar. I knew this place, my pa would drink here with his friends in the glory days. I could hear a creek, a rattle, a shake, and a slam. Jumping off Nottingham, I tied him to a post, I stood at the back door and listened.

"Where is he Blake?" Pa growled. There was a silence, "WHERE IS HE?!"

I cracked the door, I watched as this hulk of a man took a hit of his cigar as he sat a stool near the bar, "Good to see you too Robin Hood."

"You know damn well I'm retired Blake. I will ask one more time... Robin Hood. Where. Is. My. Son?" Pa hissed through his teeth. He grabbed Blake by his shirt and scrunched it up in his shaking fist.

I watched as the man grabbed my pa's wrist and flung it back at him, "He's dead. Did shit to his own country. It only took one bullet." The man tossed a bundled at my Pa. His sentences echoes though me like bells. My pa opened it, he pulled out my brother's uniform. There was a bright red stain smeared all over the front.

I breathed heavily. I couldn't hear anything other than drowned out yelling.

"You son of a bitch! You fucking bastard!" My pa grabbed this man by his shirt threw him to the ground start throwing punches, stomping his face, and screaming every profanity his mouth could enunciate.

I breathed in and out, in and out, in and out. My breaths became hitched as tears slid down my cheeks. I gasped to see two men have broken in, probably due to the commotion. They tried to pull my Pa off but no avail.

"Sir! Please let go!" Shouted one of the men who was pulling at my pa. My pa back smacked him to the ground. The other man jumped into action and my pa punched him square in the face. I could see the rage in my pa's eyes.

I raced in the bar and grabbed my pa's upper body, tugging for him to let go.

"Pa!" I screamed, "Let him go! Killing him won't bring John back!"

My pa let go of the now blooded, broken, and angry man. I let go of my pa and he backed into the bar. He slid down and buried his body in his knees.

"Comedian are you alright?" Asked one of the men, he helped his partner to his feet. Then both grabbed the hulk of a man.

I stared at them, "You killed my brother?" I asked in a loud whisper.

"I had to." The man looked at me.

"Why you?! Why did you do it?! Why are you confessing what you did?!" I Shouted.

"I promised him I would." The man hobbled out of the bar. Tears gently ran down my face. My father screamed in silence.

The two men in the dim light stared blankly at us. I got a glimpse at their features.

"I'm so sorry for your loss." One of the men stepped forward, I saw he wore a mask, a brown one. His friend stepped beside him. A mask that never looked the same at one glance.

"He killed my brother." I Shouted angrily. The two men said nothing to my anger, they walked out of the bar. Yet one still stayed for a long pause. Then left.

My pa was a weeping mess, I sat beside him and held him in my arms.

This tore our family apart. It sent my mother running away. It made my sister go insane. It made my father a drunker. Me on the other hand, it filled me with a new purpose.

I stayed in New York with my Pa. My Pa spent three days drinking himself to insanity. On the third day, I sent him home. I stayed behind. I managed to have friends send me my stuff. I found a small house with a large field just a little out of New York City.

I managed to find the old uniform my old man wore when he was patrolling the city. I cleaned it up modified to my liking, I had no name though. I looked at the picture of my family, mainly my brother and my father. I took a deep breath and held that costume in my hand, "Robin Hood." I mumbled.
