It had been five months since Tori and Rory had moved into their rental in Edinburgh. Five months of baby planning, doctor appointments and love. Emily had arrived yesterday to stay with then for a few days and have some girly time with Tori.

"How she doing?" She asked Rory when she had first arrived.

"Shes still being sick a lot. Usually the morning sickness is over by now, but the doctors said it's nothing to worry about it".

"Poor thing, must be draining though?"

"Aye, she not had much energy recently".

The next morning, Rory was heading out to go net up with some of his old climbing buddies, and Tori had finally managed to pull herself out of bed.

"How about we go for a walk after some breakfast. Maybe the fresh air will do you some good?" Emily suggested as they sipped their morning tea.

"Sure" she replied with a tired shrug.

So after some toast and another pot of tea, the two girls headed outside and began their walk down the many cou try lanes that surrounded the house.

"This place is fucking stunning" Emily smiled as she took a deep breath of the clean and fresh air.

"Yeah, I love it here. It's so peaceful and the city is only a half hour drive away. Best of both worlds".

"And things between you both... everything good?"

"Perfect. I've honestly never felt so loved. He's just so... amazing. I don't know how I got so lucky".

"Luck ain't got anything to do with it T, you deserve this, you deserve him. What are you guys planning to do about the premiere next month?"

Tori let out a long sigh, it has been the cause of a few arguments between them. "I finally managed to convince him to go, he didn't want me to travel all the way to New York for it and wouldn't go alone. Loads of pregnant people travel though and the baby's not due for another two months".

"Ace, I'll get to see you there then".

The duo continued their walk for another half hour, gossiping about the latest rumours with the crew and the plans for next season. After a while though, Tori could feel the baby begin to kick and move inside of her, which caused her to gasp in discomfort.

"Everything okay?" Emily quickly asked with a look of worry.

"Little thing won't stay still. Here, feel" she half smiled and grabbed Emily's hand and put it to her stomach.

"Fuck that's weird" she laughed.

"You're telling me".

On the way back to the house, the girls continued to walk down the narrow country lanes until Tori stopped to look at something at the other side of the road.

"Shetland ponies" she smiled and began to walk across the road to go and stroke them.

Emily hated any sort of animal, not one for the country life and stayed back and Tori continued on. They hadn't seen a car all morning, but suddenly, just as Tori reached the middle point of the road, a VW Golf came screaming around the corner at crazy speed.

"TORI" Emily shouted out.

It was too late though, and in what felt like slow motion, she watched as the car drove into Tori, flinging her up into the car and over the car. The car never stopped, and carried on at an even greater speed as she came back down to the ground like a broke rag doll.

Screaming, Emily ran out into the road and looked over her twisted body. "Tori... Tori, please" she cried as she fell to her knees and began to ruffle through her bag for her phone.

One of the farmers in the field to their side had heard the crash and screams and quickly came running out to help.

"Don't move her, are you calling an ambulance?" He quickly asked her.

Emily only nodded through the tears as she looked back at her friend and hit dial on the phone.

"Hello, my name is Emily, my friend, she's... she's just been hit by a car. She's not moving".

"Okay, well try not to move her, can you give us your location?" The voice on the other end of the phone asked.

Panicked, Emily began to cry harder. She had no idea where they were and what the road was called. "I... I dont know".

Suddenly, tha farmer pulled the phone from her hand and began to quickly speak to the operator.

"Linburn Road, just outside of Edinburgh.... female, looks to be pregnant.... yes".

As the farmer continued to talk with the operator, Emily continued to examine Tori. Brushing the hair out of her face she could see the cuts and blood all over her head. Thankfully, she could also feel a small breath, breathing in and out from her nose. This moment of relief was quickly washed away when she looked further down though and saw the ounces of blood between her legs.

Within minutes, the sirens of police and ambulance vehicles could be heard in the distance. When they finally arrived, a police man helped Emily from the ground as the medics rushed over to Tori.

"Are you Emily?" One of the officers asked.

"Y...yes' she cried.

"You did good Emily, the medics are here now and we can get your friend to the hospital. I'll take you in my car and perhaps you can tell me what happened? Is there anyone else we need to contact as well?"

"Rory" she whispered.
