There was no way out of this my family and friends set up a party for Jug and I at La Bonne Nuit for our birthday. The party was fun and Veronica then went onto the stage.
"Okay well I think that the birthday boy and girl should come up here and give some speeches. What do you all think?" Veronica says.
Everyone began to cheer and Jughead got up and went first.
"Umm thanks Ronnie. What can I saw Jade and I are finally 20 years old. Working hard with my writing, keeping the Serpents in good care, and just being lucky to have friends and a family like all of you. Im usually good with words, but since I didnt prepare anything this wasnt my best speech. Jade why dont you say now." Jughead says getting off the stage.
I got up on the stage and I wasnt sure what to say, but I guess I'll just say things and hope it make sense.
"Okay.... Well... Umm... I know I wasnt the best after the whole Jesslynn thing. It was three years on me trying to hold on to something that I couldnt change. Though this last year I have done my best to finally let it go and you know what thanks to all of you I have done better at it. So sure times like these its hard because we dont get to celebrate with her, but I shouldnt dwell on that because I have all of you here. I guess thats even more important. So it might be our birthday, but its also kind of a thank you to all of you for being there for me. So thank you and have fun." I say.
I got off the stage and just went back to the table I was sitting at and sat down. The party was fun until Cheryl and Veronica started fighting over who go to sing happy birthday at the microphone. The next day I went to El Royal the next morning it opened to prepare for the classes I have to teach later today.
"Morning Jade." Mad Dog says.
"Yeah morning." I say.
"Ohh uhh Archie told me to tell you once you came to go into the office he wants to talk to you." He says.
"Yeah okay." I say.
I wonder what this is about I headed to Archie's office and someone was in there with him.
"Look we arent hiring anyone new right now. Its just me, Mad Dog, Fangs, Tom Keller, and Jade. We dont need anymore." Archie says.
"You dont need Jade." I heard and I knew that voice Kayla.
"Actually I do need Jade. Have a good day Layla." Archie says.
"Its Kayla." Kayla says.
I knocked on the door and Archie answered it and smiled at me.
"Good your here. Oh umm.. Shayla you can go." Archie says.
Kayla just looked at me gave me a dirty look and walked out. Archie and I walked into the office and he closed the door.
"Why did you want to talk to me?" I ask.
"Well I wanted to say that was some speech you gave last night, but I couldnt find you." Archie says clearly lying to me.
"Yeah. Now would you like to tell me the truth or would you like continue to lie to me?" I question.
"Your good. I wanted to give you this." He says and hands me a small box.
"No Arch. I will not marry you." I say jokingly.
"Well maybe someday, but that not what this is. Open it." He says.
I opened the box and there was a necklace with my name on it inside.

"Wow this is actually very sweet." I say.
"Yeah I couldnt get it back until this morning. The place where I took it to get engraved was closed. So I wanted to give it to you now. Before your day started and you were to busy." He says.
"Well Archie. I actually love it. Thank you." I say.
"Can I be the one to put it on you?" He asks.
"If you want." I say.
I handed him the necklace and he put it on me. Once it was on I turned around and faced him. Just then the office door opened and Mad Dog and Fangs werde standing there.
"Ohh sorry." Mad Dog says.
"Thats alight. What did you guys need?" Archie asks.
"It time to open." Fangs says.
"We'll be right there." Archie says.
"Its time to open up then lets go." I say.
I spent the day doing my job and Archie was watching me all day long and it was kind of alittle weird. At then end of the day I was about to leave when Archie stopped me.
"Hey Jade. A moment please." Archie says.
"Yeah sure." I say placing my jacket on.
I walked into his office and he closed the door behind me.
"You were incredible today." He says.
"Thanks. Is that all? Cause Im starving. I was gonna head to Pop's and then home to watch a movie." I say.
"Oh well this isnt gonna take long. I actually wanted to give you another gift." He says.
"Arch you really dont have to give me another gift." I say.
"Believe me this is one thing I just something I have wanted to give you for awhile." He says.
Before I knew it he placed his hand on my waist and pulled me close to him and kissed me. I was sucked into the kiss and it felt nice. Just like it was all those years ago. But I snapped back into reality and pushed him away from me.
"No. No. No. We arent doing this." I say.
"Jade, woah wait." Archie says.
"No Archie. Just no." I say.
I quickly left Archie and rushed to the trailer. When I got in Jughead was sitting on the couch.
"You okay?" Jughead asks about to eat his burger.
"Just fine. Lets just watch TV." I say and steal his burger.
"Your lucky I got two." He says.
I just had to get this Archie thing out of my head so eating food and watching TV with my brother just might do it. For now anyway.
