Jade Jones's Story

Chapter 8

I got off my motorcycle and when Archie saw me he was about to go inside his house, but I stopped him.

"Im sorry about earlier." I say.

"Okay." Archie says and touches the doorknob.

"You are annoying and you are a pain in the ass. Im still mad at you for you when you betrayed me all those years ago." I say.

He stopped in his placed and turned back and looked at me.

"I betrayed you? What are you talking about?" He questions.

"You were very sweet and nice to me one day and the next I saw you kissing the one you knew was bullying me. I could careless if you kissed someone else. Its the fact it was the girl who you know treated me horribly. That was the betrayal thats why all these years I have been mad at you." I say.

"Jade, I never meant to hurt you. I didnt even kiss her. She came out of nowhere and pined me up to the tree and kissed me." He says.

"Well thats the truth. Now Im gonna go." I say.

I began to walk to me bike when Archie followed me. How did I know? I heard him coming.

"Jade, Rayla meant nothing then and she never has. You, Jade. You have always meant something to me. Even ask Val, or Josie, or even Veronica. The reason those relationships ended was because I might of said your name at times I shouldnt have. Cause Jade its you. Its always been you." He says.

"Archie, I..." I say.

"No more running away Jade. Let me show you just how much you mean to me. One date with me with an open mind? Then you can make your decision." He says.

I took a moment before I answered to just to make him alittle crazy.

"Okay, but I swear if I see you out on a date with another girl the day after our date I am never gonna forgive you." I say.

"Sounds fair." He says.

The next day I didnt have to work so I got to stay home and I didnt realize just how excited I was for the date later tonight until Jellybean said something.

"Ohh look at Jade she looks so happy. Someones got a new love." Jellybean says.

"No I dont. I just have a date tonight." I say.

"With who?" She asks.

"Archie." I say.

"Ohhh. No wonder you look so happy." She says.

"Shut up. Its just a date and its not that big of deal." I say.

"Sure... So when you and Archie get married would you raise your children on the Northside or the Southside?" She asks jokingly.

"Not funny." I say.

"Hey Js can I ask you something about Jess?" She asks.

I didnt know what to say, but if my little sister needs me for this then I'll give her the time of day she wants.

"What about Jess?" I ask.

"If your right and she really is in space. Why wouldnt she come home?" She asks sadly.

"You know I've asked that question plenty of times and I came up with why she hasnt come back." I say.

"And whats that?" She asks.

"Thats she is being Jesslynn. She met Aliens who needed her help and kindness. She must of wanted to help them that she cant leave them even though she still misses us here. They just might need her alittle more." I say.

"I like that. That does sound like Jesslynn. You know... I like this Jade the nice sweet Jade. Archie brings out the good girl in you." She says.

You know in she is right Archie does something to me and Im not gonna lie I kinda like it. Later that night Archie had showed up and my dad opened the door.

"Well... Well... Well... Archie Andrews you and Jade are going out tonight. You better watch out." My dad says.

"Mr.Jones you have nothing to worry about." Archie says.

"I dont think he is talking about you Arch." I say.

"Yeah. Keep an eye on Jade. She can be quite the handful." My mom says.

"Oh I know." Archie says.

"Okay enough Jade bashing. Lets go." I say.

Archie and I walked out and we went to his truck when Jughead came over to us.

"I know I said Im okay with this I have one rule. Have her home by midnight." Jughead says.

We laughed and Archie took me to the park where we had spent most of our times together. He helped me out of the truck and I noticed he had a picnic all set up for us.

"Wow Arch this is lovely. You didnt have to go through all this trouble for me." I say.

"This is my way of giving you a proper date and an apology for the Jayla thing." Archie says.

"You never did learn her name did you?" I question.

"No. I kinda just wanted to block her out. Even more so because she made me hurt one of the most important people in my life." He says.

"Lets put that in the past please. Lets start fresh please." I say.

"Thats all I wanted." He says.

We had a lovely time and he even got me home before midnight per Jughead's request.

"Well this was nice. I had a great time." I say.

"Me too. Have breakfast with me at Pop's tomorrow morning before work." Archie says.

"I'd love that." I say.

He was about to kiss me and then out of nowhere the trailer door opened.

"Goodnight Archie." Jughead says.

"Your a pain Jug." I say.

"I know. Im surprised you actually followed my rule. We are adults you know live alittle." Jughead says and closed the door.

"He really is a pain." Archie says.

"Well he is your best friend." I say.

"Well he is your brother. So you lose." He says.

"True." I say.

"Well I better go. I have a breakfast date with someone very important tomorrow." He says.

"Better be Jughead." I say.

"He wishes. See you tomorrow." He says and kissed my cheek before leaving.

Im actually smiling right now and I am actually happy. Wow opening up my heart really does make everything much much better.
