Jade Jones's Story

Chapter 7

Its hard to avoid Archie since I work with him actually I work for him, but still its hard. I didnt know how to act around him so I mostly just avoided him by coming in work right when it opens, working hard, and leaving very quickly. The last few days have been pretty hard since Archie wont give up because thats clearly not who he is.

"Hey Jade after work Mad Dog and I are gonna go to La Bonne Nuit. You wanna join us?" Fangs asks.

"Yeah I sure. Sounds like fun." I say.

"Great. Also dont be mad, but why are you trying to avoid Archie?" He asks.

"Thats really non of your business. I gotta get to work." I say.

I went to where I teach my class and Archie was the only one in the room. I went to leave, but he quickly grabbed my arm.

"Oh no you dont." Archie says.

"I really dont think its wise to grab on to the arm of a girl who can throw you." I say.

"Well if you really wanted to you would. Now we need to talk." He says.

"I have nothing to say to you." I say.

"Well I have plenty to say to you. First off what are you avoiding me?" He asks.

"It doesnt matter." I say.

"Yes it does. Its like what happened all those years ago after we kissed. You avoid me and start hating me. Stop acting like a child and realize that I have feelings for you." He says.

"This is nothing like why I started to avoid you back then. Besides what kiss are you talking about?" I say in a confused way.

I said it like that because I want him to think that I dont even remember the kiss from back then. I want him to just get hurt and leave me alone.

"Jade come on you know what Im talking about. You know back when we were 11 and we were each others first kiss." He says.

"Sorry, but I dont remember that. Fangs was my first kiss when I was 12." I say.

He clearly looked upset and he just walked away from me and I felt alittle bad for him. I didnt mean to hurt him so bad. I just wanted to forget. After work I went with Fangs and Mad Dog to La Bonne Nuit and Archie was already there when we arrived.

"Jade we need to talk a moment." Jughead says.

"Yeah okay." I say.

We walked back up to Pop's and he was clearly angry about something and Im not sure what.

"Why are you treating Archie so badly? I had finally realized that you two would be good for one another so I gave him the green light to ask you out. Now your being rude and whatever you said to him earlier today clearly hurt him." He says.

"Jug this is non of your business. Archie got things mixed up from a few year ago. I wasnt trying to be a jerk and who are you to say who I should be with anyway?" I question.

"Cause before Archie and you put whatever thing you had for him in the past you were always so tense. Then you two became friends again and it was like you were a nicer person. I think Archie is what made you that way. He makes you happier and I know he was the real one you had your first kiss. So I think Archie is someone who can really make you happy. So dont dwelling in the past Jade and be happy." He says.

"You need to mind your own business Jughead. Archie will never make me happy. I can never be happy with someone who betrayed me." I say.

I just had to get out of there so I managed to get on to my motorcycle and just rode away. I had to go somewhere no one could find me.
So I went to see Victor Alexander.

"You know kid your life sounds hard, but I kinda agree with your brother Jughead says. This Archie clearly loves you and you clearly love him. Maybe you cant let your sister go, but maybe you can let your heart open up and let that boy in." Victor says.

"So you think I should go home and be happy. Then in not time at all I might just have away to have you send a message to your sister." He says.

I watched him worked for alittle bit and then I made my way back home and then I saw Archie sitting outside on his porch. Maybe its time to talk to him and tell him whats been bothering me all this time and put it away once and for all.
