"What now?" Finn asked.
"Well, we came to help... but there's not much that we can do. I didn't want to fire on any of the Resistance and as a result, my ship is too damaged to fly," said Ben.
Finn looked at the ship, it was covered in blast holes. "You were lucky," he said.
Ben nodded. "I think more than luck was on our side," he said.Finn nodded. "Hope," he replied, gesturing to Leia. He smiled. "She told us to stop firing."
Ben gave his mother a small smile.
"I'm sorry that we won't be of more help," said Ben, looking at his broken ship.
"Take the Falcon." Leia told him.Ben nodded. "Do you want to operate one of the cannons?" he asked Finn.
"One of the cannons?" Finn asked.
Ben nodded. "There's two," he replied. "One on top and one on the bottom."
Finn nodded. "I wish I knew that a long time ago," he said.
Rey nodded, remembering when the bottom cannon had gotten stuck when they were battling tie fighters on Jakku.
"Rose, can you operate the top cannon of the Millennium Falcon?" Finn asked her as she came over to see what the fuss was all about.
"Of course," she replied.
The four of them hurried to the Millennium Falcon. Rey and Ben ran to the cockpit while Finn and Rose went to the cannons. Finn took the bottom cannon, while Rose took the top.
She looked down and smiled at him, giving him a thumbs up.
He smiled and returned the gesture. He tried not to let Rose see how nervous sitting in the cannon made him.
Ben sat down in the pilot seat. Silently he promised that as he flew the Falcon he would do his best to make his father proud.
Rey sat down in the copilot seat next to him. "I know he would be proud of you," she said, sensing his thoughts.
He looked at her surprised. "Do you really think so."
She nodded. "You came back Ben, that's all he wanted," she said.
"Thanks to you," he replied. Then he moved the Falcon out of the hangar.
