*a few years ago*
I went for a walk to clear my head. It had been awhile since I'd been home and it was weird coming back now that I was a somewhat famous viner, I still couldn't believe it. I felt like everyone only wanted to be friends with me for the fame. I guess it really does come at a cost.
I was sitting on a rock just staring into the lake. It was raining but it didn't bother me. Rain never did, in fact I loved it.
As I sat there thinking I heard noise off to my right. I turned around to see a girl walking along the shore towards me. Man she was hot.
She was kind of short and just the right amount of tan. She had dark brown eyes almost a mahogany color but it was her hair that stood out most to me. It was a dark brown color and it was insanely curly, hanging in ringlets over her shoulders. It had to be natural.
I was debating whether or not to approach her when she yelled across at me, "Are you checking me out?"
I laughed, slightly embarrassed that she had noticed. Pulling my self together I replied "Maybe."
Wow, real smooth I mentally beat myself up.
She laughed and it was the cutest thing I'd ever heard. Not overly giggly and annoying but a real genuine laugh.
"I'm Katarina" she said closing the distance between us, "but my friends call me Kat"
"Jack" I replied inviting her to sit down next to me.
She took the invitation and sat beside me our legs almost touching. And wow she smelt amazing.
"So is that all I get?" she asked. "no last name, no nickname just Jack?"
"Gilinsky" I replied laughing "Jack Gilinsky"
"Well Jack Gilinsky do you always come here to check out girls" she asked her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Only on weekends" I replied making her laugh. Her laugh was beautiful and all I wanted to do was listen to it all day. When she laughed her face lit up and she tilted her head back slightly.
"So do you have a last name Kat?" I asked and I really did want to know. I just wanted to know anything and everything about her.
"Yeah" she laughed making my heart flutter. "It's Kordakova"
Is my heart supposed to do that? I thought only girls did that.
"Gilinsky" she said "I feel like I've heard that name before..."
Oh no. Here it comes I thought. She's going to realize I'm famous and everything is going to stop being so real, so... normal.
"I know!" she exclaimed
Mentally I prepared myself to let her go. I really liked her though.
"You're that famous viner," She said. "You and your friend Jack... Jack... Johnson right?"
"Yeah" I sighed.
"Well that's cool"
"..."
"..."
"..."
"You're not going to fangirl or insist we take pictures or something" I asked.
"No," she replied "you were the one checking me out why would I do that?"
"That's usually what happens"
"Don't flatter yourself"
Man I liked this girl.
"So what are you doing here?" She asked.
"I came to clear my head"
"Awe" she fake pouted "I thought you came to see me"
I laughed. Talking to her was so easy and she didnt even seem to care that I was "famous".
"Well seeing you was a bonus" I replied flirting.
We sat there for a while in comfortable silence, her looking out at the lake while I looked at her.
"Do you like the view" she asked looking at the lake.
"Beautiful " I replied looking at her.
When she realized I was looking at her she blushed and looked down making her look even cuter if that was even possible.
She's not as confident as she seems
We sat there talking a while longer before her phone buzzed.
"It's my parents" she said getting up. "I have to go"
"Wait," I said.
"Yes?" she turned around.
"Will I see you again?"
"Sure" she smirked before writing her number down on my arm. She mouthed text me before jogging away down the shore.
I sat there for a while longer.
Did that really just happen?
