Chapter 7

Hey do you wanna do something today

I text Kat. I haven't seen her in a few days and I miss her like crazy. I really think I'm starting to fall for her.

Sure! I'm bored out of my mind :p do you have anything in mind

I have an idea... Meet me at my house?

A little while later I hear a knock at the door. I open it to see Kat standing there. She's wearing skinny jeans, Vans and a flannel. Her hair falls perfectly in ringlets over her shoulders and I just want to kiss her but I control myself.

"Hey!" I say giving her a hug. "I feel like I haven't seen you in forever."

"It's only been like three days," she says giggling but hugs me back tightly.
Eventually we release each other and I guide her into my house.

"Just let me grab my keys and stuff and we'll go." I say finding my wallet and putting on my Ray-bans. I was wearing nike sweats and my Magcon sweatshirt.

"All set." I say holding the door open as we walk out. I lock it behind me and guide her to the car opening her door and helping her in before walking to the driver side and closing it behind me.

"So where are we going today Gilinsky?" She asks. I love it when she calls me that.

"Just be patient Kordakova. Wait a minute and you'll see" I reply smiling.
We pull up to an empty field and I stop the car.

"Ooh grass. What are we gonna do watch it grow?" She says sarcastically laughing at her own joke.

"Well sassy pants if you follow me maybe you won't be so disappointed" I say reaching out and twining her fingers with mine.

We walk across the field laughing until we're at about the middle. There's a picnic basket and a blanket on the ground. Kat gasps and looks at me her eyes wide.

"I thought maybe we could have a picnic and watch the stars if you maybe wanted to..." I start to ramble "unless you don't because I mean we could do something else... You hate it don't you! Oh my..."

She interrupts me by wrapping her arms around my neck and kissing my cheek. "I love it" she says making me blush. "When did you have time to do all of this?" I hug her back nuzzling my head into her shoulder.

"A magician never reveals his secrets" I say winking and she laughs.

"So are we gonna eat or what?" She asks. We seperate and sit down on the blanket. I pull out a sub sandwich for each of us and we start eating. I open the basket and pull out a bowl of fruit, chips and cookies.

"Wanna see something cool?" I ask grabbing a cherry.

"Sure."

I put the cherry stem in my mouth and tie it into a knot.

"Guess I'm a pretty good kisser" I say with a wink leaning closer to her and making a kissy face.

"Not tonight, Gilinsky" she says putting her hands on my shoulders and pushing me back. I wrap my arms around her waist and pull her close again.

"Please" I whisper, "just one kiss"

"Nope" she says pushing me away again and folding her arms. She looks away trying her best to act like a child and struggling not to laugh.

"Come on!" I say in my best pre-puberty voice. "It's just a little kiss".

With that we both burst out laughing until we're practically crying. We finish up our dinner with stupid jokes and random discussions. When were done I put everything back in the basket and set it aside. It's getting late and the stars are shining.

I lay down on the blanket and pat the spot next to me. "Are you coming?" I say with a wink. She lays down next to me and I wrap my arm around her shoulders pulling her into my side. She rests her head on my shoulder and sighs happily. We stare up at the sky amazed by all the stars.

"Do you ever just look at the sky and just feel so insignificant? Like there's all these stars and other planets and your just a tiny human that doesn't matter anywhere else." Kat says quietly, almost shyly.

"You matter to me and that's enough" I reply kissing her forehead lightly. She looks up at me smiling.

"Your such a flirt" she blushes.

"Well it's true! You are one of the most important people in my life right now if not the most important and I don't know what I would do without you. You are my world" I say. Now it's my turn to blush. I look away and she puts her hand under my chin turning my head so I face her again.

"You're one of the sweetest guys I've ever met"

"One of?" I say wiggling my eyebrows.

"Don't push it" she says laughing.
We look back up at the sky trying to find constellations but soon I give up.

"Look it's a penguin eating a stick if butter!" I exclaim.

"That's not a real constellation" she says rolling her eyes but I can tell she's trying not to laugh.

"Says who?"

"I don't know... The people in charge of constellations?"

"Well why are they in charge?! My constellations are so much more insteresting!"

"Because no one else can see it!"

"You're just not as creative as me"

"Oh my gosh here!" She says exasperated with me. She gently takes my hand and guides it to point at a specific star.

"That's the North Star" she says pointing at the brightest star in the sky. "Supposedly it's the brightest star and it always points North. When your lost all you have to do is use that star to guide you"

"What about when I'm lost in your eyes"
She slaps me laughing uncontrollably.

"You are such a flirt!"

I laugh too, her laugh is contagious. Once we calm down I pull her close to me again.

"Show me more constellations!" I whine.

"Fine but stop whining! I can't take it."
I stick my tongue out at her. "You know you love it"

"Your so full of it"

She points out the Big and Little Dippers, Orion's Belt and Hercules.

"Wait so how come I don't have my own constellation like Hercules" I complain.

"Because your too lame"

"Awe c'mon it'd be so cool! It could be me flexing"

"Why would anyone wanna see that?" She says sticking her tongue out.

"Because I'm pure muscle! Look at these biceps!" I flex winking at her. She pretends to squint.

"What am I looking at?"

"You know what?" I say standing up hand throwing her over my shoulder and running around.

"Put me down!" She screams laughing.

"Not until you admit I'm strong"

"Okay whatever your strong now put me down!"

I set her down right in front of me so were practically touching. I lean in for a kiss and she turns away.

"It's getting late we should go..."
And with that we clean everything up and leave.
I walk her to the door and give her a hug.

"Meet me at the place where we first met tomorrow night at 7 okay?"

"Why?"

"You'll see" I say with a wink before giving her a quick peck on the cheek and heading back to my car.
