Bittersweet // Jensoo

Chapter 28

After a very long moment, Jisoo asked:

"What time do we have to leave?"

"Why? You bored already?" Jennie asked

"No, I just wanted to estimate our time to get ready, we have so many things to tidy up" Jisoo said

"You mean all these behind?" Jennie asked

"Yeah" Jisoo nodded her head

Jennie smiled and said:

"We don't have to, I've hired people to come tidy up by midnight"

"Oh alright, that means we still have lots of time" Jisoo said

"Yeah" Jennie said

After some moment, Jennie turned to Jisoo and said:

"Do me a favour love"

"What?" Jisoo asked

Jennie got up and walked back awhile, after some time, she came back with two whole boxes of beer, which is like 12 cans. Jisoo's eyes widen and asked:

"What do you want to do?"

Jennie smiled and said:

"Promise I'll be safely back at the hotel"

"No! What are you doing?" Jisoo asked

"One or two is fine but this is too much! It's not good for your body!" Jisoo exclaimed

Jennie looked and Jisoo's eyes, she bitterly smiled and softly said:

"I just wanted to get drunk"

Jisoo felt like something was weird, like she saw a different emotion in Jennie's eyes but she had no idea what it is. Jisoo lowered her head and hesitated for a while and was about to say no again but when she lifted her head back up, she saw tears slowly trickling out from Jennie's eyes.

"Wait wait wait! Don't cry! Drink it! Drink all you want!" Jisoo exclaimed

She panicked and wiped off Jennie's tears with her fingers. Jennie bursted into a smile watching Jisoo's clumsy move. She stopped herself and opened one can of beer. She sighed and started chugging it down.

After Jennie finished one can, Jisoo carefully asked:

"You alright?"

Jennie smiled and said:

"No"

Jisoo's heart tighten, she frowned and asked:

"What can I do to make you feel better?"

"Sit her with me" Jennie said as she patted the spot beside her

Jisoo moved over there and sat down beside Jennie. Jennie inched nearer to Jisoo and rested her head on Jisoo's shoulders.

"Thank you" Jennie mumbled

She opened the second can and chugged it down again in no time. Then the third, the fourth and she continued. Jisoo's body went numb but she forced herself to stay in that position. As much as she wanted to stop Jennie's actions, her mind somehow told her that Jennie needed it, so she just let her be.

Jennie started crying again at her seventh or eighth can. It was little sobs only but the sound of it hurt Jisoo's heart. Finally at the last can, Jisoo was about to ask Jennie what happened but Jennie suddenly passed out. Jisoo was freaked out, she wasn't sure Jennie had fainted or just went to sleep. Luckily after awhile, Jisoo heard little snores escaping from Jennie.

Jisoo hung their personal belongings on her body and woke Jennie up. She let Jennie climbed up her back and Jennie fell asleep on Jisoo's back. Jisoo sighed and started to carry Jennie on her back out from the meadow. Jennie wasn't heavy but Jisoo wasn't strong, but Jisoo tried her best to make her footsteps stable.
