When the following day came, Natasha was surprised to see Arthur stroll into camp on his horse, a look of irritation on his rugged facial features. He grabs a bottle of beer immediately and starts to chug it, tossing it onto the ground as he takes a seat on his bed, running his fingers through his hair.
Natasha walked up to him, leaning a against the wagon next to his bed and looks down to him. "Thought you were getting Micah today?" She questioned, curious as to why Micah was still nowhere to be seen.
"I did. Damn idiot shot up the whole fucking town didn't he? The guy is nuts." He scoffs, pulling out a packet of cigarettes from his pocket, offering one towards Natasha to which she dismisses with her hand but giving him a grateful smile.
"Nuts is an understatement." She chuckled as she looked away from Arthur to have a nosey at what everyone else was doing. Susan was screaming at the girls as per, Molly was staring at herself in her pocket mirror and Kieran, the O'Driscoll who they spared, knowing he was somewhat trustworthy was tending the horses.
"He even made a bloody housecall! When the law was shooting at us! All for his precious guns." Arthur shakes his head in disbelief, grabbing a candy bar that he had next to the pictures of his dog Cooper and his parents. "Anyway, says he feels guilty and doesn't want to come back to camp without a peace offering for Dutch. I gotta go meet him at his camp somewhere behind Strawberry,"
Natasha nodded simply, sighing lightly at the thought of all the innocent people who probably got killed because of Micah. But, if Dutch wants him back in the gang then the others had no choice but to accept his commands
"That'll be fun. Any idea what he has planned?" She questioned, pushing herself away from the wagon and resting her hands on her gun belt casually. The man simply shrugs, not even wanting to think about Micah for any longer which was apparent as he laid himself down on his bed and resting his hat over his face to block out the sun.
Natasha rolled her eyes and walked away. She went to the cliff edge and stared out into the open world, a sense of dread hitting her stomach. Being a wanted gang was not easy going, especially on those who don't deserve it. Although people such as Tilly and Mary-Beth were nowhere near of being innocent, Natasha hated the thought of seeing them risk their lives for the gang. They were both so young and so full of life but risking their lives to pick pocket and listen in on private conversations to gather information was not worth it in Natasha's opinion. But, who was she to talk? Before she met Dutch, herself and her brother were outlaws themselves. They were just doing what they had to do to survive. They never killed innocent people, they just got into fights, did illegal gambling, rob a homestead and whatnot. She often thought about her brother and their life before the gang and what she would do to go back to a simpler time. Although she loves the gang, she couldn't help but feel so lonely within the group whereas when it was just her and her brother, she didn't feel lonely.
It's scary that you can be with a huge group of people but still feel so alone.
Pulling herself out of her pitiful thoughts, she looked over her shoulder to see Kieran sat by the scout fire, resting a saddle on his knee.
She made her way over to him and giving him a slight wave as she sat on one of the small stools opposite him.
"You alright there O'Driscoll?" She asked, getting out her knife as well as a block of steel that she uses to make the edge of her blade extra sharp, grinding the knife alongside it.
Kieran watched her with a defeated look, tossing the saddle to the ground. "I'm not an O'Driscoll miss!"
Natasha looked up to him, slowly moving the knife along the block before pointing it at him and then to the saddle. "I'm telling you now kid, if that were my saddle that you just tossed to the floor this knife will be straight through your eye. You get me?"
