"Will you, for the love of God, stop acting like a child?"An hour. That's how long they had been together since the shootout in Valentine... One whole hour. Sixty minutes according to Natasha's pocket watch.
The pair were both arguing about which direction they should go in for the night. Natasha had suggested to head further West but Micah simply refused because of what he did in Strawberry. However, Micah thought it would be best heading towards Annesburg.
Natasha rode on Caprice whilst Micah stormed ahead of her on Baylock, determined to make her make up her change her mind that his way, was the best way.
Without finding the will to live anymore, Natasha had sighed and just followed Micah, seeing it to be a lot easier than carrying on arguing with the irritating man. It wasn't too long ago that she was in Annesburg, scoping the area out as well as hunting for the much bigger animals such as Elk and Boars and she had a very unsettling feeling about the place as a whole. The trees were dead with strange markings on them and she would often come across little campfires with shredded up clothes and drops of blood in the area but no source of any human in sight. She would've headed into the town to ask about the place but she had promised Lenny to rob a stage with him so she headed back shortly after.
She looked up to the sky, already seeing the sun beginning to set as the stars started to emerge as they entered Annesburg. They both dismounted, none of them ushering a word to one another as they began to lead their horses through the trees, trying to find a secluded area for them both to rest up for the night.
Once in a suitable zone, Natasha began to hitch up her horse and remove his saddle for the evening before grabbing out her small tent canopy and her bedroll, assembling it in only a few minutes. Micah however, he didn't have a tent and only a bedroll but it was safe to say that neither of them wanted to sleep next to one another anyway.
Brushing her hands against her jeans, she crouched down and scrunched up some dry leaves and collected sticks and logs before creating a fire to keep them both warm throughout the night. Once done, Natasha sat on her bedroll, her head underneath her tent whilst Micah lay, his knife in his hand and slowly sharpening it; something he did daily to pass time.
Suddenly, Natasha felt a sharp pain in her upper arm making her remember about the wound she had received whilst herself and Micah fled Valentine. She reached up her hand and carefully undressed the bandage she had made with her shirt previously and scrunched her face up in disgust at the sight. The skin had torn and the blood around it was lumpy. She also noticed that some dirt had managed to get in the small wound.
She leaned back, grabbing her satchel that was in the other side of her tent, leaning back forward and began rummaging through, finding some moonshine or any other alcoholic source that she could use to clear the dirt away.
As she was rooting through her bag, Micah side-eyed her suspiciously, placing the knife on his chest as he watches the woman who soon started to pour the bottle of moonshine down her armour, wincing silently in the process.
"You're wasting good liquor there."
Natasha looked up as she stopped tilting the bottle, glancing over at him from across the flames that were emerging from the fire pit.
"I'd rather waster liquor than get an infection Micah." She grumbled, looking away from the man as she continued to tend to her wound, dousing some of her ripped shirt in it and tying it back round her arm for support.
Micah rolled his eyes at her, already becoming infuriated with her even if she wasn't doing anything particularly annoying. "Why did you have to go and do a thing like that?"
