Chapter 3

Daniel's POV

She invited me for some pizza at her place. We had a lot of fun at sonic but it did catch me off guard a bit. She seems like she would be more on the shy side so it surprised me that she wanted to do that out of the blue.

We got to her house and she had already ordered the pizza while we were on our way here. While we were waiting on it we were just chatting on her dining table. Lauren told me about her band and how they are independent artist here in nashville. Dani didn't tell me much about her family so it was interesting to learn about it.

Me : So besides doing music with your sisters, do have any solo projects going on?

Lauren : Yea I do actually, I just released my first solo single a few weeks ago, before the year ended.

Me : *I smiled and got a little excited* Oh really can I hear this song?

Lauren : Haha i guess you can
*she pulled out her phone and got on her spotify*

Lauren : So this song is called running, I wrote it a few years ago about this guy i really liked but i was scared of him.

Daniel : You liked him but you were scared of him ??

Lauren : *she starts laughing* no like scared of being in a relationship with a guy like him, a good guy.

-i looked at her as she explained the story behind the song and I just smiled at her the whole time.

Lauren : Look i was really dramatic back then. - still kinda am.

-We both laughed, then she started playing the song.

After we finished eating she was still showing me some of her songs. This girls is actually really talented, she produced it all on her own. She showed me another song she was planning on releasing in a few weeks.

Lauren : Okay so I just showed you all this but what about you. You said you produce music for other people but what about music for you?

Daniel : Well I write here and there but I haven't  had much inspiration lately. I love putting my own twist on songs though, that's why I make the covers and post them on instagram.

-I showed her a couple of the videos, I think she like liked them. She was smiling and moving her head to the beat, I  caught myself just looking at her the whole time. In most of the covers i'm playing my guitar since it's my main instrument.

Lauren : So how long have you been playing guitar, it seems like forever you're so good at it.

Daniel : oh thank you!  I've been playing since I was like 5. My uncle had a guitar and I always stole it's it and would look at videos of artist playing and I would try to copy what they were doing.

Lauren : Wow that's awesome, i bought a guitar last year to try and learn but i only know like three chords and can barely transition between them.

Daniel : *laughing* well it takes some practice. I can show you some stuff if you want.

- She smiled and nodded, we were gonna go get her guitar but I notice the time, it was almost 1 am.

Daniel : Actually i might have to take a rain check on this lesson, it's getting late and i have an early morning tomorrow.

Lauren : *looks at her phone* Oh my- I didn't know it was so late, yea we should call it a night.

- I honestly didn't want the night to end but i knew she might still want the guitar lesson and that would be a good excuse to see her again.

Lauren : But we should do this again sometime, maybe you can really show me something on the guitar.

- I smiled and agreed. We exchanged our numbers then i said goodbye and left.

Lauren's POV

Daniel just left, tonight was actually really fun. I definitely went out of my comfort zone tonight because, I mean when would I ever invite a guy like that. Wait- I really just did that. I'm really surprised. I mean i've thrown up on a date with a guy cause i was so nervous. But with him I wasn't at all? I mean it wasn't a date it was more of a spontaneous hangout, yea that's what it was. But still.
