Chapter 8

Daniel's POV

It's been a couple days since i last hung out with Lauren. We had spent the day together and I helped her get a new guitar, then we went and got food with her sister, Amy. It was honestly fun day. But we really haven't talked since. I noticed that she was texting someone else while we were out getting food, i'm assuming it was that guy she was taking about that broke up with his girlfriend or something. It kinda sucks but we don't really know each other very well and I definitely crossed the line saying my opinion at her sisters dinner party. I usually don't get in other peoples business like that, but something came over me and I felt like she deserves better than him.

I've spent the past few days working between school stuff and music producing stuff. I'm currently working with a couple artist with helping them produce there music. But I also just started a new semester of college, and my last semester. So i've been a bit busy. But today I want to try and relax. I went to the living room and decided to watch some tv, one of my roommates came in too.

CJ: Hey Dan, I forgot to let you now that me and the guys were throwing a little party tonight.

- Great so much for relaxing

Me: You tell me this now?

CJ: Oh haha I thought Jordan told you but he just told me he didn't. But hey this is a chance to maybe, you know, take your mind of things for a while, maybe meet a girl *wiggles his eyebrows*

Me: How many people did you invite? I don't want like 100 strangers showing up like last time. I don't feel like dealing with the cops again.

CJ: Yea, that was a fun night. Don't worry it's just our friend group and they invited their friends too. So i expect like 30 ish people. Not bad.

Me: 30?

CJ: Okay 40 tops.

Me: Alright man, but nobody can go to the basement because last time someone broke some of my equipment.

CJ: Sorry about that one. Nobody downstairs. Got it.

-After that he jumped up and left the room all excited. I have never been much of a party guy. I stay for an hour or two but once people start getting drunk I leave. I knew CJ said he invited our friend group but I still kinda want someone by my side. For some reason Lauren came to mind. Although we haven't really talked I decided I should maybe invite her. I took out my phone to send her a text.

Me : Hey Lauren. I have a question...

- After i sent it, she took a few minutes to respond.

Lauren: Oh hi there. What's the question?

Me: Do you by any chance have plans tonight.

Lauren: Maybe I do... you know i'm pretty popular so I probably have something ;) Why are you asking?

Me: Well there's a party tonight. I wanted a plus one. So I was gonna invite the first person who came to mind. But they were busy so now i'm asking you...

Lauren: Wow you really know how to make a girl feel special.

Me: That's not the first time i've been told that ;)

Lauren: Hahaha. Well I have never been a huge fan of parties. I probably don't know anyone that's going. Where is it at?

Me: Don't worry I don't really like parties either. It's at my place.

Lauren: You need a plus one to a party you're throwing ??

Me: Well i need someone by my side don't I? If not there will just be random girl coming up to me alll night...
