Chapter 14

Daniel's POV

I got to Chicago last night. We already played a show in Ohio and Indiana. Monday morning we leave to Minnesota. That will be my last show before I go back home to Nashville.

Right now we just got done setting up and we did sound check. Now i'm just hanging out in the dressing room with the guys. I took out my phone to get on instagram and do a last minute promotion on my story for the show. After I finished I got a text from Lauren.

Laur 💕: You might be in sound check right now, but just wanted to let you know that we got to the hotel and we're settling in. I should be there in about an hour!

I smiled at her message. I'm excited to see her tonight. These past few days we haven't been able to talk much since she is working throughout the day while i'm free. Then I get busy at night with the shows, which is when she is usually free.

Me: YES IM EXCITED, and see it didn't take you forever like you said it would.

Laur 💕: I know i'm actually surprised. We got here wayyy faster than usual. I think it's cause Chad was driving and he didn't stop as much as my parents usually do.

Me: Well i'm happy you're here. Who else is coming with you tonight?

Laur 💕: I know Dani, Emmyn, and Max are coming. Lisa and Chad were gonna come, but I think they decided to just go in the city and have a date or smthn.

Me: Haha okay well i'll see you guys later. I really missed you i'm happy you can come tonight 💕

Laur 💕: Aww i missed you too🥺 i'll see you in a bit!

I put my phone back in my pocket and started getting ready. They already opened the doors for people to start coming in, and the opening act was about to go on.

After a little while lauren texted me that they were outside the venue. I told her to go around to the side of the building. I went out the side and saw them waiting. They saw me as I motioned them to come inside. Once they came in I greeted Dani and the guys. Then I went over to hug lauren. She put her arms around my neck as i put mine around her waist, lifting her up a little.

Me: Hello, pretty girl. I'm happy to see you.

I put her down with my arms still around her and she was smiling. We leaned in for a kiss as she pulled me closer. I felt her smile into the kiss and we stayed like that for a couple seconds before one of my friends called time. I had about 3 minutes before we went on. We pulled away and started walking towards Dani. I felt Lauren grab my hand as we walked, I looked over at her and smiled.

Me: Alright i'm about to go on, you guys can stay here, or go onto the balcony since there are some empty seats for you guys up there. I wouldn't go on the main floor, there will probably be a lot of people crowd surfing, or maybe even a mosh pit or something.

Dani: Wait I want to crowd surf!!!!

We all looked at her and started laughing as we realized she was serious.

Me: Well if you want to go down there I won't stop you, just be careful.

I put in my ear piece and started heading towards the stage. I felt someone grab my arm and turned around to see lauren. She pecked my lips and smiled, as she said "good luck dan," I mouthed 'thank you' to her and started walking on stage.
