chapter 7

Daniel's POV

- After the dinner, Lauren invited me to her house again for the "guitar lesson" we were talking about.

Once we got to her place I sat on her couch as she went to get her guitar from her room.

Lauren : *walks in with guitar* Here it is, i've had it for a few months now but I still can't play.

Me : Woah that's a really nice guitar for a beginner!

Lauren : Hey i just thought it was a nice guitar.

Me : Oh it really is. Come here show me what you know.

Lauren : Oh my amp is in my room, come here.

- She lead me to her room and I sat in the chair at her desk while she plugged in the guitar.

Lauren : Okay so all I know is how to play a G chord and a D chord...

Me : Those are some really advanced skills *says sarcastically*

Lauren : I know, watch out Daniel i'm coming for your job.

Me : Haha I think you already took it.

- She laughed and sat on her bed. She was trying to switch between chords faster but was having trouble placing her fingers. I told her i would help her and sat next to her.

Me : how about you tell me what your favorite song is right now, like something simple and maybe slow.

Lauren : ummm, i really like the song 11 hours by wet.

Me : I don't think I know it, here let me just listen to the chorus.

- I pulled out my phone to search it up, then i listened to the chorus and we both thought of chords that would got along with it. I was trying to show her the fingering but she was having trouble.

Me : alright let's try this, i'll play the chords and you strum.

- She agreed and took her left hand off the guitar. I was trying to find a position that allowed me to play the chords while she still had the guitar and was able to strum. I sat right by her left side, our faces were right next to each other and my hand was on the frets while she was still holding the guitar and strumming. She slowly started playing while i switched the chords, once we had a steady tempo she started singing.

Once she finished the chorus, we stoped and she looked at me smiling.

Me : Hearing you sing live is so much better the the demos you showed me.

Lauren : What you don't like hearing me sing about all my guy problems??

Me : oh no it was a lovely time, but i think i like this a bit more.

-We both laughed and looked at each other. There was a silence for a few seconds.

Me : So... can I be honest?

Lauren : Was my strumming that bad ??

Me : No your strumming was amazing, some of the best work i've seen. But I feel like this guitar is pretty advanced.

Lauren : Yea my brother told me the same thing, I want to get a new one but I know nothing about guitars. Hey do you think you could go to the shop with me to help me choose?

Me : Yea I think that would be fun. What are you doing tomorrow.

Lauren : Going guitar shopping with this guy I like. *laughing*

Me : Oh really, you're doing guitar lessons with other guys?

Lauren : Yea you think your the only guy i randomly invite to my house after meeting hours prior.
