The Long Awaited Talk

Third person

Newly king Gray and prince Natsu we're both introduced. " King Gray ," The Squire announced, Gray confidently walked up, not feeling confident himself. " And prince Natsu " Natsu walked up hurriedly with a stumble in his step he was quickly shoved next to his elder brother.

"Eh," he muttered whilst taking a step away from the king
Applause quickly filled the vast, but packed ballroom. Everyone began to mingle.

Then the awkward silence came.

Not knowing what else to say, The black haired King found the most common used conversation starter. "Yo." He said turning to his salmon haired brother, a slanted o took from of his lips while speaking.

Natsu, being the kid he was, let out a loud "humph." And crossed his arms taking an interest in the decorations, which happens to be on the other side of Gray.

Gray, out of old habit of saying his mind, replied to his attitude saying " you're still a hot head I guess some things never change."

The young Prince, also out of habit, immediately turn around and yelled " and I see you've always been the same Ice Princess, now queen," Smirking he added, " I guess some things never change."

The Kings blood boiled, or should I say froze over in pure rage. It quickly dialed down and they both had a fit of laughter. "Ahem." A cough quickly cut clear the laughing fit.

Both boys looked down to see an elder woman. (A/N I know I changed the gender of the duke but deal with it I'm one of the authors, so I have the power in this chapter.) "I am the duchess of Porkapun as a trading partner of Artenaea I wood like to have the first dance with the new king. " Her voice gave off a sense of authority.

Gray didn't like this idea, while Natsu took all of his energy not to laugh, which was a lot. The King noticed this reaction from Natsu and messed with his black biker gloves as he did when he was thinking.

"You know..." after a slight pause he continued, " I don't really dance but my brother does." Natsu realised what His brother meant and his grin faded. "Wha-" The Prince started but was cut off by the lady. "I guess he will have to do." she smiled at him.

And with that he was dragged off by the woman. While Gray was chuckling from afar where the three previously stood together.

Natsu's POV

Damnit I was getting dragged by the duchess of whatever the Hell the kingdoms name was, I think something about Porcupine I decided to use that as a conversation starter. So she would stop dancing like a chicken.

"You are part of the kingdom porcupine something or rather, right?" Apparently this was a soft spot for her. " It's Porkapun!" Her voice was a little on the higher side hurting my ears. "Anyway, she continued "why did the gates get closed that's awfully suspicious?" She kept looking at me suspiciously ready to rant about her conspiracy theories.

I was about to figure out something to say right when I felt a tap on my sharp shoulder and a feminine voice that was recognizable say "Sorry to interrupt, but would you like to dance?"
