Game 3: Davy vs. Stan
Billy Taylor, Bloodthirst Coach: It's important to remember that Priya and Charlie try so hard when they're at work. And by that, I mean that they could not care less if they tried.
Tara Marcus, Gamblers Coach: Priya and Charlie? No, they are truly terrible at their jobs.
Charlie Zhang, Timekeeper: I don't even want to dignify your question with a response. I care about my job very much.
Stan Sykes, Cuddlebunnies Coach: They suck.
Charlie Zhang: Whether or not I care about my job has nothing to do with whether or not I'm good at my job.
Priya Shah, Scorekeeper: I mean the direct deposit keeps hitting so why should I care more?
Flex, Bulls Coach: One of the most important things to remember about coaching in this league is that you must always have an eye on what Priya and Charlie are doing. Like always.
Tara Marcus: There was one time, Priya was literally painting her nails at the start of a third quarter.
Priya Shah: What? I thought I had enough time during halftime, but Charlie just decided that the five-minute halftime was actually two and a half minutes.
Charlie Zhang: I wanted to go home.
Tara Marcus: So you could hear her repeating the score out loud until her nails dried. She shorted me four points. I lost by three.
Davy Hatch, Tigers Coach: Priya works in mysterious ways.
Scott Dorchester, Supervisor: It's difficult to find two people to give up several hours a week for very little pay. You get what you pay for and I'm pretty okay with that.
Chelsey Oakley, Falcons Coach: I don't like talking bad about people, but my God. Priya and Charlie need to find a new job. Like wannabe Youtubers or just making mediocre TikToks.
Charlie Zhang: Can I shout out my TikTok here?
Jett Cordova, Hurricanes Coach: So I'm gonna make my move on Tara since you told me it was a good idea. Any advice?
Billy Taylor: The biggest problem, hands down, is that Charlie is the only person who can see the clock. It's on this little handheld stopwatch type deal. So it just sits in his hands for his eyes only.
Zeke Fielding, Ref: Most of the time, we don't know if he actually started the clock at the start of quarters or after timeouts.
Priya Shah: Oh, its like all of the time. He never started the clock on time.
Tara Marcus: When he does that, he just makes up how much time has gone by. There is no way around it.
Stan Sykes: Charlie once called five-minute subs seven and a half minutes into a quarter before.
Jenna Marcus, Ref: So the next game up was Davy and Stan. It was a good game.
Stan Sykes: So bonus for me that game, this kid Kurt Hauser showed up after missing the first week, and he was nice.
Zeke Fielding: For a kid whose name sounds like he should be wearing aviator and a mustache, Kurt could play.
Tara Marcus: Between Ryan French, Bryan Ferri and Kurt, Stan had a really good team. It's tough when you start 0-2 and then have to play Davy, who is known for mentally tearing apart everyone in his path, adult and child alike.
