"Ah, Akaashi you're back."
Oikawa slowly opened his eyes to muffled voices coming from outside in the foyer, and stretched lazily in his comfy bed.
"Drat. I fell asleep." Oikawa murmured, sliding off the bed reluctantly and walking drowsily towards the door. Without warning, a heavy object hit Oikawa on the head, causing the brown-haired angel to jump in surprise.
"What the heck?" Oikawa grumbled, rubbing his head with annoyance and willing the sleep to disappear from his eyes.
Lying on the floor was a large scroll with intricately decorated silver handles. Yawning, Oikawa shrugged, and proceeded to open the door, before it hit him.
The scroll must be...
"Ah!" The brown-haired angel screamed, jumping again in surprise and hitting his head on the ceiling. "Ow! Damn this luxurious tall height of mine..."
"Oikawa-san? What is?" Called the silky smooth voice of Akaashi outside the door in mild concern, and without a moment's hesitation, Oikawa picked up the scroll and threw the door open, almost breaking it in his excitement.
"I got it! My mission!"
"So the notorious angel of mischief has finally received his mission," Kuroo chuckles, settling down on the floor next to a surprised Yamaguchi. All of the angels had gathered to sit cross-legged in a circle in the foyer, curious to find out what Oikawa's mission was.
"Urgh," groaned a gloomy brown-haired angel, rolling the scroll around moodily on the ground, "I don't want to have a mission...my eleven years of luxury...gone in a flash..."
"Be grateful that He even decided to give you one, considering your rogue-like behavior." Sugaward scolded, shaking his head.
Rolling his eyes, Oikawa slowly unrolled the scroll, holding it up to read.
A moment of silence passed, with all the eager angels leaning closer and closer towards Oikawa.
"Well?" Demanded Semi, twitching an eyebrow impatiently.Oikawa sighed before clearing his throat.
"Before you is the mission of Oikawa Tōru, an angel of eleven years: 'Save Iwaizumi Hajime'."
There was a collective displeased groan from the other angels.
"That's surprising...I thought for sure Oikawa-san would have a really bad mission..." Said Yamaguchi, glancing at the scroll with disbelief.
Oikawa, clearly troubled, looked up from the scroll with a frazzled expression.
"What in The Above is this supposed to mean?!""All missions have very...abstract meanings to them when they are given," Kuroo said, tilting his head thoughtfully, "though this is the vaguest one I've heard yet."
"So I'm supposed to 'save' this random mortal? How do I save him? Physically or mentally? This is terrible!" Oikawa sobbed, collapsing dramatically onto the ground, while the other angels got up to leave slowly. "This is going to require so much hard work..."
"Don't overreact, Oikawa-san."
Oikawa looked up to see Akaashi standing above him with the usual emotionless expression plastered across the black-haired angel's face.
"As long as you recover some of your humanity in this mission, it'll be worth all the confusion and hard work."
Oikawa snorted, slowly standing up and clutching the scroll in one hand, "I don't want my humanity back, and I definitely don't want to spend a year, a month, no, even a day trying to 'save' some stupid mortal."
