Iwaizumi slowly opened his eyes, scowling at the bright light that flooded into his eyelids, and sat up. His head throbbed and he felt drowsy with fatigue and dizziness. Looking around his room through squinted eyelids, Iwaizumi tried to recall last night's events. His memory was a blur; he remembered drinking a little too much, stumbling to a nearby suspension bridge and sitting on the railing. He remembered screaming his lost friend's name and wriggling furiously on the railing. He shuddered.
"And then after that..?" Iwaizumi muttered, blinking furiously as he willed himself to focus. The spiky-haired man jumped up a little, startled, as he remembered very clearly falling into the water.
Then he had watched, with half-lidded eyes, as someone dragged him out of the water. He couldn't quite recall the person's face though, it was all a blur in his mind.
Then it hit him. The man who had saved him had wings on his back?
"Haha, you've really outdone yourself, Hajime...wings? How could that even be possible?" Iwaizumi chuckled to himself bitterly, slowly letting his feet drop to his bedroom floor. "Not only did you manage to get yourself drunk, now you can't tell the difference between dreams and reality?"
He shook his head, getting up slowly, "I was probably saved by a rescue team who saw me plunge into the water...although that doesn't explain how I managed to arrive back to my own house..."
Still murmuring under his breath, Iwaizumi shuffled over to the door, opening it only to be face-to-face with an unfamiliar man.
Iwaizumi narrowed his eyes, crossing his arms as he looked the man head to toe.
"And who, sir, might you be?"
Oikawa gulped, fidgeting with his hands that were behind his back.
"A-Ah...I pulled you from the water last night when I saw you fall in...I happened to be on the shore nearby." The flustered angel replied, scratching his head nervously.
"Lying is a sin as condemned by He himself...although I am a troublemaker of an angel, this feels terrible!"
Oikawa's eyes widened and he glanced at Iwaizumi to see if the latter had heard his inner voice. If he did, he showed no sign of it. Instead, he watched as the man cocked his head in slight confusion.
"Ah well...you see, the suspension bridge was near your mansion, and while I carried you on my back while trying to find your house on this street, I happened to see your nameplate at this particular house! Aha...ha..." Oikawa blabbered, internally cursing himself for having no experience with lying whatsoever, "And when I pressed the button on the intercom, your butler saw that you were with me so he let me in! And I came to check on you this morning!"
Iwaizumi frowned, "How did you know my surname?"
"Ah shit," Oikawa deadpanned internally. "I did not think this through...I hope He really does have mercy on me..."
The angel sighed, shaking his head. "I can't answer Iwaizumi. I should try to avoid this to the best of my ability."
Oikawa took a deep breath, composing himself, before staring straight into Iwaizumi's steel-grey eyes.
"I'm sorry. I cannot tell you that."
Iwaizumi raised an eyebrow, and Oikawa could sense a flicker of hostility in the man's intense gaze.
"You saved me, went through street by street looking for my house, and even know my surname? Am I not supposed to be suspicious?"
Oikawa gulped.
