A light breeze blew the almost emerald-colored green leaves off the branches of the large, towering trees. The sky was a smudge of purple, pink and orange, stars glistening amongst the darkening evening sky as if someone had splattered tiny, delicate drops of white paint across it. On a fairly large transmission tower stood a man dressed in a crisp white suit.

He was quite handsome, a man perhaps in his early 20's, with soft and tufty hazel-colored hair, and even lighter brown eyes that sparkled with an edge of mischief and keen interest.

Although he was standing on the edge of a tower a few hundred feet off the ground, he seemed fairly unbothered as he surveyed Tokyo in its entirety. A small smile came to the man's face, and he closed his eyes as he took a deep breath. Then, without a single flinch, the man fell off the tower.

There was a soft flutter, and a barely heard breath amongst the wind.

A pair of white, fluffy, feathered wings sprouted from the man's back.

The man opened his eyes, and inhaled deeply before gliding upwards into the clouds.

As soon as his delicate angel wings touched the wispy clouds, the scenery began to change before him. The sky above the clouds turned into a light cyan, and before him appeared a large mansion-like structure with lofty pillars and polished marble slabs. After pausing for a brief moment, the man glided up to the second floor of the large marble structure, landing lightly on the curtained balcony and letting his wings fold in released tension as he walked into a room.

"Ah, Oikawa you're back." A familiar gentle voice resonated within the large room, and Oikawa turned to face the silver-haired angel sitting in a large armchair with a book in his lap.

"Sugawara." Oikawa replied, dipping his head in a makeshift bow of courtesy, as he hopped over the clutter of books strewn all over the floor.

"Kōshi! How many times have I told you to stack the books neatly next to you when you're reading!" grumbled a man with messy black hair who stumbled into the room, almost falling flat on his face.

"Oh you know me, Tetsu. I can never change my habits." Murmured Sugawara, not looking up from his book and failing to notice the black-haired angel's eyebrow twitch out of irritance.

"Torū, do something about Kōshi will you? This is starting to get on my nerves. Whenever he finds a pile of books he just throws them around, one after the other, as soon as he finishes them." Kuroo grumbled as Oikawa stared at the burly angel in amusement before chuckling.

"So, how's finding true love going for you?" Oikawa cracked, walking over to one of the large tubes plastered against one side of the room and reaching behind to pull his wings off gently.

"Terrible. You know how Kenma is. So defiant and opposed to any sort of human emotion at all." Kuroo sighs, plopping down on the sofa opposite of Sugawara and tilting his head back to look at the ceiling.

"You know how bad this is, Torū? I only have forty days left until I sink to the center of the Earth and spend my days burning in hot as hell nothingness-no pun intended. Look! My feathers are already wilting!"

Oikawa shrugged, typing in the passcode to his tube and carefully hanging the wings inside.

"Mortals are all the same, Tetsurō. Is there even a point in pursuing this 'Kenma' that you're so deeply in love with?"

"Now now Oikawa, no need to be so cynical," Another grey-haired angel walked into the room, yawning and stretching his wings slightly. "You really do need to recover some of your humanity soon like Sugawara suggested...well, you'll find some of it once you receive your mission, if you ever do."

"I don't want to receive my mission." Oikawa retorted, closing the case and watching the battery symbol at the bottom flash several times in recognition. "I've had a great life, living eleven angel years here since my death. I can do as I please, watch those foolish mortals from The Above, and who knows? Maybe even play around a little with human life..."

"Keep your mouth shut Oikawa, if you don't want to fall down into the pits of hell faster than Kuroo." Semi snapped. "Do you know how enraged you've probably made He?"

"Relax, Semi-san. If He was angry, he would've done something by now to me, right?" Oikawa replied nonchalantly, plopping down next to Kuroo and plucking a cookie off of the crystal plate on the small glass table. "He's probably still deciding what mission to give me."

"For heaven's sake...you act like a child." Semi sighed, walking over to the tubes to place his wings inside.

"Remind me why you and Sugawara are still here after completing your missions? Can't you guys just return to Earth as humans already?"

"You're not going to get rid of us that easily, Oikawa," Sugawara laughed, finally placing his book down and standing up to stretch a little. "After all, the only reason reason why Semi and I stayed was to watch over you all. Who knows, maybe the Cloud 9 Vicinity will turn into the 'Fallen Angel' Vicinity after the rest of you feather-brained angels break The Pledge."

"Hey! It's just Akaashi and I who have fallen. Tadashi and Torū still have a chance-"

"I'm pretty sure Yamaguchi's already fallen in love with a mortal though," Semi said, chewing on a cookie thoughtfully. "He mentioned some human the other day while we were out acquiring food. What was his name? Kae? Kai? Something along those lines..."

"You're not helping, Eita..." Kuroo deadpanned and Sugawara chuckled.

"There's no human being left on Earth that deserves to know my true identity anyways." Oikawa said, closing his eyes. "In the end, they'll all just die, so what's so good about falling in love?"

"Watch your mouth, Oikawa..." Sugawara sighed again, casting a glare at the brown-haired angel, who shrugged in response. "Jeez...if He gave you a mission to clean all the sewers in Tokyo I wouldn't be surprised, seeing as how your mouth is dirtier than all the sewers in the world anyways."

"Where are Yamaguchi and Akaashi anyways?" Semi interrupted, glancing at Kuroo, who had gone out with the pair but returned alone.

"They said they wanted to check out another Heavenly Market instead of our usual one, which I'm sure is code for Tadashi bringing Keiji with him to stalk Kai or Kae...whatever his name is..." Kuroo responded, rolling his eyes. "Kids these days."

"You're not much older, Tetsu." Oikawa smirked, cracking a smile as the black-haired angel threw a pillow at him. "Well, I'm going to my room to take care of something. I'll be back in the evening."

Oikawa walked down the steps of the indoor balcony into the large foyer, before turning to his right and walking into the room with his nameplate plastered across the large white door. The brown-haired angel flopped onto his bed in exhaustion, staring up at the entirely white marble ceiling before closing his eyes.
