Oikawa froze, he felt himself grip the chair so hard that he almost felt the metal bend with his supernatural strength.

"...Ah...why would you ask about such a thing, Iwaizumi?" Oikawa said rushedly, laughing with nervousness, "...I do feel rather comfortable when people call me by my last name."

Iwaizumi glared at Oikawa, his steel orbs burning with intensity,

"You told me you'd answer my questions truthfully, Oikawa. Do you plan on deceiving me further?"

The brown-haired angel gulped.

"I can't answer that."

"Why can't you?!" Iwaizumi shouted suddenly, causing Oikawa to jump in his chair. Oikawa looked down at his feet.

"I can't answer that...you'll end up getting hurt. I don't want to remind you of whoever you lost. If I'm going to have to save you...I can't do that."

Iwaizumi paused for a second, opened his mouth to say something, then sat down and cleared his throat.

"My apologies. I lost myself a bit there."

Oikawa nodded, still rather surprised.

There was a long, awkward silence, before Iwaizumi coughed, causing the brown-haired angel to turn to look at him.

"Do you know? They say that humans die twice in their lives. Once, when their lover leaves them, and twice, when they stop breathing."

Do you know? They say that humans die twice in their lives. Once, when their lover leaves them, and twice, when they stop breathing.

Does that mean I'll die once when Iwa-chan stops visiting me?

Voices echoed in Oikawa's head, and he looked at Iwaizumi with surprise.

"Iwa-chan? Who's Iwa-chan?"

Oikawa didn't reply, and Iwaizumi chuckled.

"I once told someone that. I promised them that I would never leave them. They were my first love."

Will Iwa-chan stay with me forever?

Yeah...yeah. I will.

"In the end...we both left each other. I'm not sure how he felt but...I, for one, did die. It was painful, and brutal, and excruciating. I have faced no other physical pain that has hurt more than that day."

Iwaizumi sighed, cracking one knuckle after the other as he stared into space.

Oikawa didn't reply. He felt himself being drawn to Iwaizumi. He felt the bitter pain in the spiky-haired man's words. He felt the multiple scars that had torn themselves into his heart. He felt the abundance of thorns that had lodged themselves into Iwaizumi's soul for eternity.

"You poor mortal. How much suffering you must have had to endure for the past years."

Iwaizumi coughed, drawing Oikawa back to his senses.

"I already know the answer to the last question."

Oikawa blinked.

"But I can tell that you're not telling me everything. You will, explain to me, what the hell is going on."

"I can't do that." Oikawa replied swiftly, and Iwaizumi snapped his head towards him.
"That wasn't a request. It was a demand. You told me you were worried about me when I fell into the water. Granted that you're not lying, I will choose to believe those words. If you care for me, you will stay here, in my mansion, until you tell me everything."
