Strangers in the Night

Everyone had fun at dinner, the food was delicious and it was fish. Some of the crew members used nets when I was fishing alone. None the less, the food was amazing and it filled my stomach. I had two helpings, there was enough for everyone to have extra. After we all ate, some of the men pulled out small instruments. Sunny even tried to get a song along together, that didn't last long when Benjamin tried to sing.

Now I sat on my make shift bed satisfied and looking at the stars above, I was just about to close my eyes when someone came beside me.

"Aren't they beautiful?" Caspian asked as he set down his blanket and pillow on the sand.

Everyone had a really good dinner and was now just relaxing by the fire we made for the fish, it made the shadows dance around me. He laid down and looked up at the sky for a minute, then he looked at me.

"What?" I asked giving a small smile.

He replied with a question, "are you gonna stay this time?"

"I don't know, I haven't thought about it much."

"What's stopping you?"

"Family."

Caspian looked over at Sunny who had fallen asleep quickly, then he looked at Benjamin who was chatting with Edmund.

"You see those two people." He asked referring to my best friend and my brother.

I nodded in response, "yea, it's pretty hard not too. Why?"

"You didn't just steal my heart. You see, Sunny wasn't the same after you left. She felt as tho she had lost her best friend. She'd talk to everyone about you, she'd rave about what a amazing person you are. When you came on board, it was the first time I saw that same girl appear since you left three years ago. Benjamin couldn't stop worrying about you, he would try to focus on other things but part of him seemed empty. You took three hearts with you."

"No matter what I do, someone is going to feel broken hearted." I say giving a small sigh.

Caspian shrugged, "true, but you need to think of you this time."

"Even if that's going back?"

"Yes, I will except that. I just want a good excuse this time." Caspian told me as he rolled over on his side, "do you regret coming back?"

"Yes and no, at first I did..but now I'm kinda glad I came back." I say rolling over on my side to face him.

With that he cupped my face gently, his soft hands caressed my cheek. His thumb gently rubbed my skin as he leaned forward, I started to do the same. However, I felt a tickle in my nose and right before our lips touched I sneezed. My forehead banged right into his nose and lip, I groaned as well as he did.

We both pulled back and rubbed the spots that hurt, I just looked at him and started to laugh quietly. He did the same and just shook his head at the whole event that just occurred.

"May be its best that we just sleep, we have a big day tomorrow." He told me as he laid down on his back.

I did the same letting my head fall gently on the small pillow. "I'm sorry about your nose."

"It's alright, I've had worse happen to me."

That made us both chuckle a little, we let that linger before we succumbed into a good few minutes of absolute quiet.

"May be let's wait on that kiss." I suggested

Caspian glanced over at me, "for how long?"
